The average green anaconda is 18 feet long and weighs about 300 pounds. It can swallow a five foot long and 140 pound capybara ( a very, very large rodent-like animal). So a snake this size could probably not be able to swallow or eat a large, fully grown man, only women or children. The largest green anacondas in the world, much larger than the usual ones, gets to 33 feet and 550 pounds. A snake this size could easily swallow a six foot tall and 200 pound man, no problem. Green anacondas can eat caimen, which look like crocodiles and alligators, that are 8 feet long and 400 pounds so the snake should be capable of eating even a large human once it reaches these unusually large sizes.

A big anaconda can swallow a hole person. It would probably a small one. Unfortunately, from time to time you see a news story about a snake with a big bump in it's belly and a small person is inside. Really large pythons can swallow children. So, when keep larger snakes like these. Make sure no little people are sleeping near by!

An anaconda cannot swallow a whole person. A very large anaconda could swallow a small child, but they don't. Snakes are creatures of habit. They eat what they are used to eating. Only if they are very hungry would they try something different.
Snakes always swallow their food whole, so they cannot eat anything unless they can swallow it whole.
