--ASK YOURSELF:
1. Do you know your subject!--YES YOU DO!
2. Do you know any of the people in the audience and are any your friends?
3. Think about how this speech might be of help to any in the audience!
4. Don't focus on just 1 or 2 individuals, but pick different ones that you know and switch from one to the other occasionally.
5. Think ideas you are going to express not words.
6. Have some references that you can read and use as authoritities to support your presentation AND this will be able to give you confidence because you have authority behind what you are saying--MAKE SURE IT IS ACCURATE AND APPLICABLE!
--Before you start take some reasonably deep and slow breaths it will calm you down.
--Pause occasionally to gather your thoughts, keep away from AHS'--
--THINK I am in control of this subject and indeed have something that they do not know and I want them to know!

I HATE SPEECHES!!! which is odd because I love being in plays...different setting I guess :) This is what I do. Before I go up I close my eyes...take a few deep breaths... open them and start to panic!!! I'm like you, a natural fear of speaking in public. Think of it this way. Look at your audience. First of all, none of them care about what your saying which means their not listening. You might as well be alone in a room. Everyone listening is just glad their done. If all else fails when you get to the front pic three spots in the room. One in the middle of the room and one on each side of the room. Just glance from spot to spot and not at the people and it will look like you are looking at them. It's a hard fear to cope with but focus and you'll be fine.

The realest and the most favored answer that has helped many people in this situation is to get a video camera and film yourself in doing your speech. After you are done recording, review your speech by watching the video and redo the parts that you didn't like or seemed embarrassing to you, keep on doing this until you have a feeling that strikes you that you are not scared and that you are confident, believe me this feeling will strike you.
Even if you wish not to choose my answer as best answer, I suggest that you still do as I said above. I don't answer only for points, I answer to guide you to the right path of a your question.

Well.
I'm a natural speaker.
So i'm not exactly sure what to tell you.
But don't bore the audience with unnecisary info.
Get to the point.
Maybe add a joke or two in.
Try imagining them in their underwear or in funny hats.
Try not to become to worked up over it.
If you keep stressing u wont do well.
Try to get lots of sleep and practice your speech as much as possible.
I hope this helps you.

I have a hard time with speeches too. All you have to do is force yourself to get up there and do it, after you get up there and start your speech you'll start to be less nervous and scared.
