Heya people, so how did you first "get into" AFI?
Mine, at first i had no idea who they were, but i decided to download "Miss Murder" just out of boredom. Surprisingly, i really liked it at first listen, so i got some other stuff from DU. Then did some research, went back and got "Girl's Not Grey" - completely loved that song (and still do)! So that lead me to getting their older singles, then finding out who were in the band, and then going on YouTube (hehe, gotta love that site).
So yeah, now i'm working backwards to getting all their albums and hopefully, EPs as well! And if lucky, being able to join the DF (but i need a credit card first so..)
I would really love to hear your AFI experiences,
So how long have you known them for? What song got you hooked?

My first experience was in 2006 sometime in June.
When I was sitting and watching music channels and they were on.
The music video was Miss Murder.
I was intrigued with their music. I was hooked.
I couldn't believe I found the perfect band for me.
Their the best.
Well then like you I've been buying their Cd's from their latest to their oldest, which now I have to get their first single.
Then I'm going to get their EPs hopefully.
I'm still trying to be a DF, but I'm going to wait till it's summer so I can get my dad to pay for it.
To some people they've been their fans forever and that going to be me too.
I'm glad to have a chance to talk to people that also like AFI.
Rock ON!

I got into AFI from "Silver and Cold". I saw the video and combined with the song it spoke volumes. They kept my attention with "The Leaving Song Pt. 2" and "Love Like Winter".

I started out with those guys when I listened to Miss Murder on MTV. I had never really heard of those guys befor then. Miss Murder still remains on the top of my list, and still is. I haven't really gotten a chance to get into all their other stuff.

i knew about afi, when i saw the video, miss murder. i changed the channel once i heard the song. i wasn't into rock back then, more like a year. anyways, i was watching 2006 vmas and they won for best rock group and i was rooting for panic! at the disco. i got mad when they won, i didn't even listen to them, so i looked for my sis to tell her what happened, i couldn't find her and i went back to my room and crashed into this huge cabinet and some fragile things broke. i got mad and i blamed afi for making me bump into the cabinet. until recently i was so mad at them. i didn't even know who they are, the band members, etc. i told my friend why i didn't like afi and then she said that i should just forget about the incident and listen to them. which i did and i LOVE them so much! i love their songs from their cd decemberunderground and sing the sorrow. i only listen to the songs with the music videos. i love the group! i can't believe i spent months hating them. i also love jade puget!!! he is so hot! awesome lyricists. i'm currnetly listening to "love like winter". i've known them for a couple of months. i know about them more, onced i researched them two or so weeks ago. i've been listening to miss murder, love like winter, silver and cold, and girls are not grey. i like their prelude 12/21. i love all the videos.

I bought "Black Sails in the Sunset" and was BLOWN AWAY.
Then I bought the "Halloween e.p." and "The Art of Drowning" and loved them both.
"Sing the Sorrow" was ok.
Now I'm disappointed.
Saw them on SNL with the EMO haircuts and lamer sound, sorry guys.
I don't think I'll buy your new one... whatever it's called.
