Ok, so on this program on my computer I created a graphic I want to use as a profile pic. Well then I saved it as a jpg file, and then I opened it, it had this white box around it. Can anyone tell me how to fix it and remove the box.

Ok I know how to save it as a GIF file but how do you turn on the transparency?

Not really sure how you created the picture, but it sounds like it is possibly a transparency issue. For example, you drew a blue circle on a transparent background in hopes that when you put it on a green page, all you see is the blue circle, but you're getting a blue circle with white around it. If that's the case, go back into your program and resave as a GIF with transparency enabled.

if i don't misunderstand you, you mean that you wanna saved a pic and wanna make it as a profile pic, however, the pic is not ideal enough bicoz of the boxes around it. Ok ,my suggest is to open the pic with a specific programme such as MSpaint. And then you can edit the pic(cutting these boxes away) and save it as a .jpg, .bmp, .gif, ect format file. haha, the last thing to do is just using the pic at your will. i hope this would help.
