I think "captain" gave you the answer--without intending to. Most of the right-wing are poorly educated. They don't read--they jsut watch the boob tube or listen to Rush on the radio.

Well, after growing up with print media (I am 55) I slowly came to a few conclusions.

1) Print media isn't about news.
2) Print media is about scandal and fear
3) Print media is about expressing the editorial views of the owners/editors

So, I conducted an experiment. I stopped reading print media as a general rule. I may go several months without reading a single article in the paper and then only in the business section. (Admission: I have been reading sports sections, but even there I see a great deal of biases being expressed veiled as sports commentary)

The result is that I have not suffered at all with regard to being informed about issues that affect my life or my community.

I do read articles and research on line. I talk to people. I stay informed.

But the print media is pretty much useless as a source for "news".

I have found that people would get along a lot better the less "news" they got sucked in to.

This doesn't have much to do with liberal vs. conservative. I conducted this experiment early in my life before I had developed much of a political viewpoint.

I just happen to be conservative...print media never helped me be informed...it made me angry and fearful a lot...but that is about all.

It has a negative value in society from my perspective.

No, I don't advocate doing away with it. It is a business though and the object is to sell paper or magazine ADVERTISING.

It isn't a "news" business. It is an advertising business and I don't particularly trust anyone in that business to tell the truth about anything.

Fox, by process of elimination. The actual content of Fox News also resembles the process of elimination.

The sad fact is that neither liberal nor conservative can tell an unbiased story, because they themselves are too biased to recognize one when they read it. Even if the journalist can keep every bit of personal opinion out, mercilessly editing out any loaded or indicative words and phrases, the facts themselves often make the story seem "biased" to the partisan thinkers.

Since the facts cannot be challenged, the unhappy must content themselves with shooting the messenger.

The one of the few alternatives to the liberal media, is FOX news. Or you can do your own research on the web!

Most of them have a reading comprehension problem so they just watch Fox Noise.

If you'll notice here on Yahoo! Answers most of them do not answer the questions asked, they just rant about other things because of their reading comprehension issues.

I get mine from ALL the sources. ABC, NBC, and yes FOX!
EDIT:
sorry, didn't see the print part. I don't read newspapers, save my local, small town one. There's no reason to waste my money on that.
