At the beginning of a match I do my best to be objective. I'm well aware of their strengths and weaknesses. I also know about the type of opposition they are facing. As the game progresses, however, my objectivity slowly erodes and my passion takes over. I dispute every call that goes against them. Then again, that's why I say I'm a fan. Even fans who try to be objective can't help but let their heart get in the way.

Not very often but i love playing soccer. When Australia were in the world cup i got up at about 3 in the morning to watch about 2 matches . And when I was away on holidays I watched a Melbourne victory match and it was great.
The A- League Grand final was amazing Melbourne won 6- 0 to Adelaide United. Soccer is a great sport.

When it comes down to it, no. For fun I will say things like "Liverpool's the best" but I know that it is only an opinion and people will think different things. I keep pretty open minded and I like to look at situations from different perspectives.

So, if Liverpool were to lose, I wouldn't say anything like "the other team was lucky" or "they should've won if...". I would look at the situation and find different things that may have contributed to their loss and I would point them out. If a team loses, then they lose, and if they win, then they win. That's really all there is to it.

It's really how I am with all situations. I'll see things that others might and I'll understand the situation in different ways then others. I still have my own opinions and beliefs, but keeping an open mind helps me to understand other people better.

Great, mature question! I like these kind, they make me think.

Not badly objective, but I am objective about my team. I think the passion is what really drives the entertainment value of watching a match. But I mean when a foul is clear (like Zizou's headbutt for example) I'm not usually so persistent about it.

Man U for life.. dokhtar shatuun!
Juli.. I try to be as objective as possible, but theres likely some bias which obviously is hard to achieve when you are a big supporter... Youre the most objective analyst on this site but even you have some "bias"(its natural).

Why say no... at times I am when I just get desperate! When I see they are gonna fail to win a match... it just happens. But then I calm down and remind myself that there are many more opportunities they'll get. After all, they're all "just games". There's always a time for failure and that's what makes me grow as a fan! But overall, I support my team no matter what!

Yes, however where there is passion and lots of it, it can be very hard to be objective.

its impossible to be objective because if you follow a specific team, you obviously want them to win over other teams.
