Actually, all the things that you were brought up thinking were bad actually are good. So yes it is a sin to be poor, and you should shun them and let them know how much better you are than them. Especially the disabled. Please everyone, dont let the disabled work, theyre cocky enough as it is.

Well, there may be a very small percent of people that truly do need a hand up to get back on their feet.

My problem is with people that never were on their feet and therefore do not want a hand up because that would mean they would have to stand up for themselves and take responsibility for their decisions.

No, it isn't a crime to be poor. It should however be a crime to remain poor in America. There is no reason for it.

Get an education--Most poor never bothered with that.

Don't get pregnant before you are able to support the child--most poor have violated that rule of success also.

Get a job and keep it till you can get a better one--most poor can't get or keep a job...see rule number one.

If you do those three things in America, 98% of the population would not be poor. They may not be wealthy, but they wouldn't be poor.

Personally I don't think Bush has any thing to do with that.. I have a friend who told me his house has been blown down in Connecticut three times .. He lives right on the water its beautiful .. The house cost him $500000 when he first built it.. the first time it blew down the insurance and FEMA paid $750000 the second time well over a million and the third time 1.6 million .. he had the house built back again in the same spot and cant wait till the next big storm .. Now his children are building in the same area hopping to get in on the gold mine

Btw Shortbus, should FEMA fill up those 2000 dollar debit cards they gave victims of Katrina who blew the money on strippers or Luis Vuitton handbags?

So when floods arent covered by insurance policies is that cheating customers when the insurance company wont pay for something that isnt covered by the insurance?

Well, most sins are crimes - most crimes are sins. Maybe they are victims of their own doing. I just don't think all of them were decent poor people to begin with. I think there was a little crime in NO before Bush sent Katrina.

Personally, I think that people who keep building in disaster areas, need their head examined.

Move to higher ground people.

It's not the taxpayers place to have to keep replacing property for dimwits.
