Here is the classic head in the sand mentality. To think that the world will be all rosie after some reach in the sky, political withdraw date the world will all be peaceful is blinded in Bias. Historically look at when the Democrats did the last retreat in Vietnam, over 2 million people killed in its wake. Somalia we withdrew again and chaos reigned. If one thinks Al qada, Iran and Syria will allow a democratic Muslim state exist peacefully than we will allow history to repeat itself.

Oh, gee...apparently we don't understand the meaning of "chaos and conflict."

Right.

People in the middle east have been cutting one another's throats over religion and borderline disputes for centuries, and that's not going to change no matter what kinds of democracy dreams any American leader has.

Pull out, cut our losses, and let them have at each other. Stand by with some smart bombs in case they think about getting threatening.

Well, there is no peace yet anyway, but I can easily foresee that the government elected by the people would be deposed and a theocracy sympathetic to the islamic fascist would take over.

After that you would see the country move, violently to what you saw in Afghanistan under the taliban.

It's happening now, and total bedlam is pretty much inevitable. The only question is when, and how many US soldiers have to die first.

I realize Bush would rather pass the buck to someone else, and is willing to allow thousands of US soldiers to die to avoid having to deal with that reality, but it's a shallow argument.

Bush himself isn't dumb enough to agree with himself. What, you don't actually think Bush means any of that crap he spouts, do you? There's an agenda, and he will say anything to accomplish that agenda. That's the only reason he says anything at all.

Anyone who actually "agrees" with him is just simply retarded. Or evil. I'm pretty sure those are the only two options at this point.
