I mean everyone was "guaranteed" they were there, by Bush and Rumsfeld. They "knew" where they were, and that was their reason for entering Iraq (against the will of the UN). And now it seems like everyone has forgotten about this. I hate to use the word brainwashed but it seems like thats what has happened to people. They did not go into Iraq to get Sadam Hussein, they changed their goals to match their abilities. They couldn't find one so they simply changed it to the other without anyone noticing. So I ask you, where oh where did those WMDs go?

Well like most people believe they may have ended up in Syria. Has anyone ever wondered why so many in the Intelligence community really believed that Sadam had WMD? Think about it, the Wall comes down, the soviet army is only being paid sporadically. They have families to feed too, with no income would you believe that some were inclined to turn a blind eye to theft for money? Why do you think that the Congress in the US was so concerned about the security of Nuclear storage facilities scattered throughout the former Soviet Union? When the US and the EU were backing Iraq, does anybody ever wonder what weapons that were sold to Sadam? Remember that nobody wanted Iraq to allign with the USSR at that time so I'm sure that there were some consessions made to accomodate Iraq with it's war with Iran. Remember also that when Iraq was fighting Iran that all the Arab states were with his also, Iraq was ran by the Sunni minority just like most of the middle east. Iran is Shiite, hated throughout the arab world!

Hey, it doesn't take an Einstein to know three things...

1) Sadam had weapons of mass destruction and used them against his own people and the Iranians. That is a fact so to dispute that there were in fact WMD is worse than spitting into the wind.

2) During the time leading up to the invasion, Sadam obviously moved his WMD out of the country for the most part. Duh!

3) Chemical agents have been found, just not in the quantities that were expected.

Can we all now get over the WMD issue? It is what it is and saying they were there or weren't there doesn't change a thing in the present.

Getting stuck over such things like the WMD issue and the loss of Gore and Kerry are just bad grapes.

Get over it.

Yep just one reason. That means you have never read the Oct 2002 AUMF. Well follow the link below. I like that part about the Congress passing the legislation that Iraq was a urging the President to act in 1998 because of its WMDs "threatened vital US interests"...

Why not read the whole thing and add to your original question exactly how many reason there were and how FAR BACK they came from.

They were destroyed after the first Gulf War, but Saddam was afraid of looking weak to internal and regional enemies, so he played a game of chicken, where he blustered like he had weapons, but foolishly assumed that he'd be okay because there was no proof whatsoever of any WMDs, programs, or WMD-related programs.

They have been digital. In it truly is long conflict with Iran, Iraq used chemical weapons to counter the numeric superiority of the Iranian forces. The Iran-Iraq conflict did no longer truly lead to peace lots as exhaustion, so, in Saddam's paranoid-dictator recommendations there replaced into continuously achievable of renewed hostilities with Iran. yet, together with his u . s . weakened by ability of the Gulf conflict, he had no wish of status as much as an Iranian invasion. on the comparable time, the UN replaced into annoying 'evidence' that he'd given up the very weapons that should deter that invasion! So, he performed a mushy sport of deciet. He provided UN inspectors with purely sufficient get right of entry to that he ought to /declare/ he did no longer have weapons, whilst transforming into purely sufficient doubt and confusions that the Iranians might concern that he /did/ have such weapons. concern of those weapons additionally helped shop his very own people in line. marvelous as much as the autumn of Baghdad, Iraqi officers have been being instructed that they could be issued chemical weapons for use against the people. the sport ultimately backfired while it replaced into used as a pretext for invasion by ability of Bush, who replaced into searching for someplace different than Saudi Arabia to place American militia bases. yet, Saddam is having the final chuckle - from the grave - as his sport of deception and doubt maintains to play out in American politics.

Saddam obviously had them, since he used them on the kurds(chemical weapons are considered WMD's you know). Not to mention he had more than enough time to either destroy or move his stockpile to Syria. Even if he didn't do either of those two options, there are many many square miles of desert in Iraq to hide them underground in.
