just got done reading act 3. What is ur impression of Ophelia so far Explain

She's the classic example of the "innocent bystander," and things are NOT going to go well for her.

She's guilty of nothing. She loves Hamlet, she tries to be a good daughter and sister, but she finds herself right in the middle of the war between Hamlet and Claudius.

The worst scene for her is the scene in which she is "planted" as a spy by Claudius and Polonius, and returns Hamlet's gifts to him. Imagine how AWFUL she must feel about that, and imagine how HUMILIATED and FRIGHTENED she must be by his wild reaction. The next time we see her, she's completely mad.
