Any over the counter toothpaste can be a good remedy for acne and zits. Dab a small amount of paste, just enough to cover the zit. Allow it to dry and then wipe off with luke warm water, then apply again. Do this before bed and you'll will find that the zit has lost it's glow (you'll also smell sweet peppermint dreams!)

according to allure magazine's editor, this is a complete myth. In the past, toothpaste usually did not contain many additives for whitening, tarter control etc. What you are really after is the salcylic acid. The toothpaste may actually make your zit worse because now days you have so many additional additives for whitening, tarter control, fluoride, etc.
You are better of crushing up a plain old aspirin, making a paste with water and putting that on the zit. Aspirin's majority ingredient is salcylic acid.

i heard about this too, it doesnt get rid of acne but if you have a really big pimple put a little bit of tooth paste (the regular white toothpaste works best not any of the blue gel looking type) just put a dab on the zit and what it does is absorb the pus and reduces the swelling considerably.
another great product to use is the mud mask that comes with the proactive kit, it does the same thing that the tooth paste does

When my mail came today, my magazine order to Seventeen May 2007 edition came in.. and I was reading some of the articles. I was totally shocked that they recommended to try putting plain Colgate toothpaste on my zits! I'm going to try it tonight. I hope it works!
Here is the piece about it from the article..
"At night dab toothpaste on zits (my mom swears by plain Colgate). They'll dry out by morning!"
Give me more information if you're looking for more secrets! I have tons!

When you put tooth paste on a zit, it dries it out and takes out the pus. You will probably still have a red spot but it won't be swollen like a normal zit, it is just a tiny red spot under your skin.
You should leave the tooth paste on all night or few a couple hours then you have to make sure you get it all off.

Yes. It does work.
The best is to use Tom's of Maine Natural whitening toothpaste.
It does not contain fluoride. Or, you can try some other non fluoride toothpaste.
Pat it on gently and leave it on all night. In the morning, sponge it off with tepid (slightly warm) water.
Natural toothpaste is used by make-up artists on their clients. It can really help skin eruptions. Also, it covers blemishes very well.

Tried the toothpaste. Didn't work as well as my aesthetician's ice cube trick. Hold an ice cube on the zit for one minute. Do this a couple times a day. It'll be gone before you know it.

It works and it shows results after bout 3-5 days! However it doesnt really get rid of the zits it just makes them dry up and then you really cant see them anymore. But you still should wash your face everyday!
TRY IT!
GOOD LUCK!

It does help, expecially with the big pus-sy ones. I haven't had them often, but it makes them go away in a few days. I also have this stuff called On the Spot Acne Treatment that works well, but is super drying.

I tried it and it works. But there's a misunderstnading, it doesn't make you zits go away, if just dries them out and makes then less noticable.
