what a joke that you are complaining about public funding for this.
THERE WON'T BE ANY PUBLIC FUNDING.
All they have done so far is ask for planning permission.
You have put the link there for the petition to vote against planning permission being granted, not for using public funds to build it.
So all of you who clicked and voted against have in fact voted the way the BNP wanted you to, against planning permission ...
well done all of you, trying to stop British Citizens having a centerpice to their religion in the capital city ... brilliant!
I personally hope it goes ahead, and I have voted in favour,.
And I'm going to write a computer program that will add 100,000 more votes in favour ....
And I urge EVERYONE to first read, then sign the below petition in favour of the Mega Mosque.
http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/buildmosque/
It's going ahead, deal with it...

Sorry? Meg mosque? first ive heard of it! No i do no longer agree. i'm no longer a racist, whether I do have self assurance that there are greater effective issues for funds to be spent on. Why would desire to we buila a large mosque and not a large church. i think of anybody has forgotten that we are a CHRISTIAN united states, and with each new non-christian immigrant that enters the rustic we lose somewhat greater of out identity. i'm no longer an all out christian or something, yet whilst i comprehend that he NHS is in hundreds of thousands of debt, and well-being care is so undesirable (through fact it quite is loose to anybody that comes here) and coaching in some aspects is lacking, i ask your self the place the priorities of our government lie. individuals are loss of life on well-being middle waiting lists, and a few toddlers bypass to college in an environment i might enable a pig stay in, so why would desire to all the tax payer's funds bypass on a mosque whilst it quite is mandatory someplace else?

This 'question' is posted several times a day. No public money would be spent on this mosque if planning permission is given - it's to be funded privately by organisations in the UAE and Kuwait. This is tabloid outrage over nothing.
And there's not much point petitioning number 10 over this anyway. Planning permission is granted by the local council, and as such number 10 has nothing to do with it.

It is an utter joke that you think this is a fact.
The government is not in the business of building mosques. They would not spend any money on this.
And how could it possibly spend £100million? The huge gherkin tower in central London only cost £130million to build - do you really think anyone wants to build a mosque three-quarters of the size of that skyscraper?

Yes, I am aware of this, and have signed the petition on the Government website. There are also many petitions online for those who object to this. No planning permission has been granted yet..............as far as I am aware. The deadline for planning permission has passed, because of problems with local buildings being "in the way" of this developement, but new plans are expected to be submitted.

Then they wonder why everyone is losing faith in the government. I have nothing against Muslims, but let them build their own mosques. Where I live, we have a Mormon temple, but they footed the bill for that, the government didn't. You're absolutely right about the NHS, why can't they see this? Come on folks, let's get them out at the next election.

This is the first I have heard about any such plan.
Are you sure about your facts?
Is the funding really as much as you say it is?
What are, not "is", the sources of those funds?
What are your own sources for this information, and are they reliable?
I need to know more before I can make any comment other than the gut reaction that such a plan seems really badly thought through.

I will not sign, because this is a thinly veiled rant against Islam in general.
If you feel so angry about the NHS being 'in tatters', why are you not writing to the Health Secretary about it? £3 million is being spent every day on the Iraq occupation which could be better spent on the NHS.

IF this is true you do realise that most mosques are paid for by the people who actually use them...ie Muslims so you shouldnt have any worries about your precious money paying for it.
