Vince Carter (aside from the dunks) has been somewhat of a "quiet" superstar since his days in toronto and winning that dunk contest in 2000. Does he deserve the title of "one of the best NBA players?"

I like Vince, but he is just a little overrrated to me. His problems are that he's shows no zest for playing defense. He just wants to put a show on for the fans, which is why I think he'll go to Charlotte. They need a ticket buying attraction.

He does not belong with the greats of today let alone the greats of the past. Those players set a higher standard.

Anyone can score if they shoot enough, but the great ones can keep you from scoring. Vince hasn't shown that he can do that.

When its all said and done he'll be in a category with guys who could score and excite, but were lazy on defense, guys like...Dominique Wilkins, Connie Hawkins, World B. Free, Shawn Kemp, Stephan Marbury & maybe Carmelo Anthony his defense is atrocious.

If you notice none of these guys have NBA championship rings either.

He can hit three pointers and mid range shots too. He has a lot of cool dunks being on the Nets. He doesn't deserve the title of being one of the best players in the NBA. Since he is been with Nets he hasn't been the best player since Jason Kidd would be the best player on the Nets. Vince Carter was the best player when he was on the Raptors.

Vince Carter isn't overrated or underrated. He is a great athlete and he does amazing dunks. Vince still has great basketball left in him. He averages 24.8 ppg this season which is still great. I think he is one of the best players in the league but he isn't on the same tier with Bryant, Wade, Nash, Anthony, James, Arenas, or Iverson.

decide the issue objectively and independently as a guy or woman and you gets the main appropriate answer. in reality, the Asker is very on the factor of the main appropriate answer. My stance on Hedo vs VC and VC change are notably sparkling through fact the very initiating - no harm for Magic with the addition of a shown wing and prolific scorer, and that they have got learnt the lesson from overpaying Lewis. we've not any theory on what a VC would be in front persons if he's notified to take the duty for pushing a championship, yet something for effective is that he's so as gentle as marketed. meanwhile, are you able to artwork out factors to coach that Hedo is a lot greater effective than Kukoc and could be a real franchise participant? a minimum of i'm no longer able to - and Raptors %. him to stability the group particularly than a cornerstone. The Lee-Anderson change itself is an excellent deal, yet Magic placed taking photos huge guy in a some distance better priority and end a clever participant in Lee. Anderson is the type of Van Horn (and seems bodily harder) and his upside would desire to be on the factor of such point, and his presence enables Magic to play an all-gunners lineup with out sacrificing top. Magic have been making effective strikes in the process the offseason and the final step is to coach all are maximum appropriate and good judgements. stay tuned.

agreed, his high fly acts, powerful dunks are great, he's also a talented players.

But I don't think he deserves to be a super star, the one carrying the team is Kidd, and if he's really that good, Nets should be a lot better.
He can't control the game like a super star, so I do think he's overrated.
And I think the reason he is is because the dunks are so nice to watch.

He's overrated because he chokes in the clutch, and his offense is often more about flash than substance.

He's underrated because he's more of a team player, and a better defender than he's typically given credit for.

He should be considered one of the 15 or 20 best players based on talent alone.

Vince Carter is overrated because he has yet to produce in the playoffs. He can't seem to help lead a team out to the finals. As talented as he is he tends to shrink in the postseason.

He is not a Hall of Famer, more like Hall of Very Good. He has been known to be a person who more hype than what he really deserves. He is a great player but not in the Kobe or Shaq or D-Wade level, more like the bottom level of the elite.

IMO, he's taken too many ill-advised three-pointers. When he reached the playoffs back with the Raptors, he's a slasher and played like Wade and gettin' free throws.

If you've seen his game right now, his shot is mostly catch-and-shoot or perimeter jumper. Unfortunately he's not a good shooter like Kobe, T-Mac, D-Wade etc.

Does he deserved it? IMO no, unless he can prove it next season.

NO, for one reason he's not consistent, he was ALOT more consistent of a player early in his career, and many compared him to MJ and thought he could/would be the best player in the league, but he never developed in to what many thought, but he can out play any body on any given nite....
