When I started playing, about 10 years ago, I found that AC/DC songs are by far the easiest and best rock songs to start learning with. They are extremely simple beats, with tiny or no fills, and very little cymbal work. All bass, highhat, and snare. Try Back in Black and She Shook Me All Night Long. Perfect them, then move on to something more complex. Before you know it, you'll be playing Metallica.

Many popular 'rock' bands actually have very simple drum parts. Anything that stays on the same rhythm and doesn't go into a 'drum solo' or have too many 'fills'. Maybe try 'Queen'? ('We Will Rock You' popped into my head first, as it's just clapping, but you can practice with the bass drum and snare to keep in time until the guitar solo starts, then you could play a simple rock beat by adding high hat).

Anything from the Beatle's. Neil Peart of RUSH is probably the best drummer I know of. Try playing Tom Sawyer! I don't know of any cd's like you are talking about. Interstatemusic.com is a good place to check for anything percussion related. They used to be a good resource for guitarists as well but something happened & now they don't even sell Gibson. Check em out.

Rock music in all risk has a lineup of diverse the worst drummers in the international. weapons and Roses and exceptionally AC/DC would be extremely elementary for all and sundry to income on drums. (I as quickly as taught my 7-3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous cousin an AC/DC music on drums through fact she needed to income) Metallica is an extremely diverse tale whilst it includes their drummer, through fact, whilst i do unlike them, i'd desire to confess that their drummer is notably proficient. i wouldn't in any respect label Metallica as an elementary drum band. Any mainstream Rock band of on the instant's time would be extremely elementary on the two guitar and drums. all of them stick to 4/4 varieties, predictable snare, heavy cymbal utilization and use distorted and income-sopping wet open chords. purely %. a rock music and it would be elementary.
