I'm going to this dance with my friend who is exactly the same height as me. My dress is long. He doesn't want me to wear heels because I'll be taller than him. I, on the other hand, want to wear heels because I wear heels all the time and with a formal dress I think anything else would look stupid. Should I get super high heels or kitten heels or go flat?

Heels definately bring sex appeal to an outfit. It's ok to wear a heel, but its mainly concerning the INCH in heel you're wearing. Besides if your guy appoached you when you two first met he must already and accept your style of dress. So your interest in wearing heels shouldn't bother him at all. But men can tend to be insecure. Just reassure him that he looks great with you regardless of what length of heel your wearing, or how short he is.

i would say wear whatever you want. Personally i like a good 2 - 3 " heel. And if the guy is just a friend, why should he care? kitten heels and flats tend to look boring and dowdy especially when worn with a long dress. Plus you can always take the shoes off if you are doing pictures etc.

I'm 5'11" so I deal with this a lot. I don't wear heels all the time, but when I'm going somewhere nice I wear them despite any guy's protest. It's a dance, so definitely wear heels of some sort. Kitten heels can be cute, but they can look dowdy, so make sure you pick out a cute pair. Otherwise, you can't miss with a nice pair of stilettos.
A compromise would be you wearing them to dinner and pictures, and then taking them off while you two are dancing. Not only will this save your feet, it'll make him feel better!

wear the heels girl. he is obviously insecure about his height. why bring yourself down to his level (no pun intended) and look stupid with flats on. you will feel totally uncomfortable and regret not wearing heels especially when all your friends will have on heels. maybe a compromise with reasonable heels instead of super high heels. really it is all about the dress. if the dress is floor length then maybe moderate heel if the dress is shorter and the shoe is seen then a super high heel is very necessary. do what makes YOU happy. not a stupid boy. have fun.

Yessssss! Amen sista. I'm only 5'1" and Really tiny and everybody makes like 3 comments a day about how cute or adorable I am. I know they mean it in a good way, but sometimes I start doubting and worrying it's like an insult :/ 5'4" is average I think. I'm not done growing so I should be around 5'4" :)

wear small heels, and if (bcause its along dress) were ballet flats with that tiny bit of heel, also dont be pressured by him, its your choice, its not your fault hes the exact same hight as u.

do what you want.....its your life and you aren't going to marry this guy so live your life and make your choices based on what you want......he's making choices FOR YOU based on what he wants......how caring is that? Wear some seriously HIGH heels girl! NEVER let a man dictate you....its not worth it.

At all of our school dances we where high heals and then take them off to dance.........its impossible to dance w/ high heals........so if I was u I'd just where flat shoes.....it will feel really weird being taller then ur date.,....trust me.
