Watching TV shows that kept dying of bad scripts, years ago I made up a game:
"I was rating shows, and my survey vote could affect what millions of people who weren't on the survey got to watch. So I said I could watch 20 minutes; if I stayed after that it would count in the survey; if not it wouldn't. And if I cheated and stayed even though the show was no good, I'd have to pay a quarter as a fine".
That was my "point of no return"--I never paid one quarter.
On a diet, you need more than "a diet" if you can't pay back over-eating binge calories the next day. That's the point of no return for pretending you don't have a problem with impulse eating.
And f I've carefully explained something three times and someone doesn't get it--there's no fourth. I'm a nice guy, not a punching bag for bad listeners. That's my point of no return--like these three examples I've just given you.

I have no idea... that's a worrying thought - what if I passed it and can never get back? I have a piss-poor sense of direction, you know, I could be wandering around in some kind of existential no-man's land for ever and still be looking for the big hotel on the left that you can't possibly miss...
Ho, hum - is there anything worth going back for that I should be worried about?
