Pregnancy tests measure Hcg hormone and not progesterone or oestrogen which are what birth control pill is made up of. If you got two lines (whether one is faint or not) then it is likely that you are pregnant!
HOWEVER, you can get evaporation lines if you don't read the test in the correct time. This is the only way that you will get a false positive. Take another test to be sure or call your doc to get a blood test done to confirm.
There is NO risk with getting pregnant in your first month off the pill but it makes it more difficult for the docs to work out when the baby is due.
Congratulations!

pregnancy tests are positive regardless of the darkness of the two lines. If it is visible, then it is positive. Birth control does not cause a positive pregnancy test result, since the hormone that is is testing for is not found in birth control. If you are positive then you are pregnant and you should go to your OB-GYN for a blood test :) good luck

2 lines should mean you are pregnant. BC doesn't effect a pregnancy test. Take another one an/or call your doctor to confirm because most likely you are.

It sounds like you are pregnant! I have never heard of BC causing a false positive. I would retest again in a few days, preferably in the morning. If it comes up faint or clearly positive, get your tail to your obgyn.
congrats!

birth control pills won't give you a false positive.
If there were two clear lines there (even if one was lighter), then you're pregnant! Congratulations!

you could be - my understanding is false positives are uncommon, so if there's a 2nd line, even if it's faint you're probably pregnant. Good luck!!!
