It's their country, they can allow or forbid what they like.

I suppose you're trying to make the comparison between "majority rules" and "freedom and justice for all" are you?

Well, here's the deal. The majority is only the majority if they are on equal standing as the minority, with only a difference in ideology separating the two. The institution of public policy only exists insofar as it allows people with the same rights to debate as to whether or not a course of action is what's best for the nation. Therein lies the problem: does gay marriage count as a right or as a course of action to be debated upon?

Personally, I believe it is a right; forbidding a large group of people from marrying simply because you are convinced that the circumstances in which they express their love (not lust; not physical or psychological dominance; but true love - it's high time people learned the difference) is incorrect in comparison to yours flies directly in the face of everything this country stands for, whether or not the majority agrees.

Gay, straight, man, woman, black, white. We're all Americans, aren't we?

"Rights" are not voted on, they are subject to the Judiciary process, not public vote. That is how the rights of the Minority are protected from the tyranny of the Majority.

No contradiction there at all, just another disingenuous attempt at trying to discredit without providing all the facts....
The Question was "Do you think that Christians should be allowed to build a church in Saudi Arabia? As you know this is forbidden in Saudi Arabia"
Sorry, your sad attempt at twisting the truth to suit your purposes fails again.
They are a sovereign nation, they have every right to make whatever laws they wish within the boundaries of their borders as they see fit. They are Not ruled by the United States Constitution or the Christian Religion.
You lose again. Face it, you are doing nothing more than TROLLING again.

NO i think they do not have a right to deny gay marriages...they are not the ones that are getting married and they shouldnt care...its not like if 2 women or 2 men get married its going to cause world destructions...love is love in any way, shape, or form u look at it...and other ppl should not determine whether 2 ppl should be wed...only the 2 that are going to get married should have the say

No, since in the Constitution it says ALL are created equal, and therefore ALL citizens should get the same rights. If one is of age and legal to marry (i.e. not related), they should be able to marry any other person they choose. End of story.

Anything else is supporting state-sponsored discrimination, since the STATE gives and administers marriage rights (over 1000 of them).

This is why bigots who are against same-gender marriage would need to AMEND the Constitution to support their prejudice.

I look forward to a Supreme Court case on this matter, when the Constitution can be affirmed, and equality can be supported as the law of the land in the US.

No!, who has the right to decide what is right and wrong for everyone. The only reason that gay marriage gets turned down on the ballot is because we are a minority and everyone thinks that we will ruin the world if we can get married. Its ridiculous that anyone can tell me i can't get married to who i love if they are the same sex as me. If gay marriage is denied, all marriage should be denied.

Well, my opinion is that no, we shouldn't be able to ban gay marriage by a simple majority vote. As I have said before, I believe that gay rights is a civil/minority rights issue, not something that should be voted on. In fact the opposite is true, the majority (in the US anyway) has an OBLIGATION to make sure that minority rights are not trampled by a simple majority vote.

No. Those of you that say "Yes", do you think that homosexuals have a right to deny heterosexual marriages? No. There is a little thing in the Constitution called the First Amendment, guaranteeing EVERYONE basic rights, including Freedom of Speech, Press, and Religion.

No. Those who are elected are to pursue laws, etc on behalf of their constituents.

If Americans are to vote on such things, would women have the right to vote?? Would slavery have been abolished??

Several religious denominations perform same sex marriages although they are not recognized by the government, and when the government denies legal recognition to those marriages it is disregarding the first amendment in regards to "respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof".
