The question pretty much is explained in the title. I'm treating a betta in a 2.5 gallon tank. I removed his live plants and his filter but am leaving the bubble stone in. I'm using Coppersafe to treat velvet and Melafix for fin rot/any secondary infections.

It shouldn't be a problem but to be honest I wouldn't expect to much out of the melafix. It's a fairly light weight antibiotic and if the fin rot is past the very beginning stages it probably will do very little good. I would suggest a stronger antibiotic such as Maracyn or Maracyn 2 for the rot.
