I had this with my last preg, and at 4 months started having regular contractions and started spotting. This can cause you to lose the baby if left untreated, be sure to take all of your meds. As far as the bump, does it itch, sting, burn? I think I would follow-up with your Dr. It may be nothing but it is better to be safe than sorry

Bacterial vaginosis is a mild infection in the vagina caused by a type of bacteria (germ). The vagina normally contains a lot of "good" bacteria, called lactobacilli (say: "lack-toe bah-sil-li"), and a few other types of bacteria, called anaerobes (say: "ann-air-robes"). Too many anaerobes can cause bacterial vaginosis. We don't know why the anaerobe bacteria overgrow and cause this infection.

Bacterial vaginosis is an abnormal vaginal condition that is characterized by vaginal discharge. The condition results from an overgrowth of normal bacteria in the vagina. In the past, the condition was called Gardnerella vaginitis, after the bacteria that was thought to cause the condition. However, the new name, bacterial vaginosis, reflects the recent research establishing that there are a number of species of bacteria that naturally live in the vaginal area. The Gardnerella organism is not the sole culprit causing the symptoms. When these multiple species of bacteria become imbalanced, a woman can have a vaginal discharge that is associated with a foul odor.

The symptoms of bacterial vaginosis are vaginal discharge and odor. Usually, there are no other symptoms. The amount of vaginal discharge that is considered normal varies from woman to woman. Therefore, any degree of vaginal discharge that is abnormal for a particular woman should be evaluated.

You may notice a discharge from your vagina. The discharge may be clear or colored. It may be very light or heavy. It may have a fishy smell, especially after you have intercourse. Some women have bacterial vaginosis without any symptoms.

I don't know how far you are in your pregnancy but you need to get back in touch with your dr about having this treated. Leaving it untreated could cause labor to start. I mention this because I know of someone that got contractions going because she had an infection going. The contractions stopped after the infection was treated. Pls call your dr in the a.m.

No one can tell you better than your doctor- go see him ASAP. It could be a number of things and waiting too long could make it worse and then again you could not be in no danger at all for you and your baby don't take any chances.
Take care of yourself and that baby.

Please get back - to your doctor. Don't play games with this at any time, and in particular, don't do so when you're pregnant.
