The key word in the attached site is "American". being held in a secret Ethiopian prison by our government...without trial or and due process...and probably being tortured (or else why have him in a secret proson). I really don't care what he did...if he is an american citizen and our government is not trying him in America, then we now have gulags and democracy is dying

why are they being interogated by our government and nothing is being said or done to get them repatriated

the point is that the government assumes their guilt and does nothing for them...are they citizens or are they only useful to the CIA?

Of course they are - we've been saying this for several years but the cons in congress didn't give a rat poo. Now that we have some real americans in charge there we can get this liar/crook under control and fix the system to be like the Founders wanted it to be. It makes me mad as hell.

Shrink says it's ok because it's always gone on, and the PA was liberal appeasement! Find a bible college to keep the insanity going babe - oops! You already been there done that huh?

The Associated Press is part of the great liberal media conspiracy too eh? You folks have no sense of decency or honesty.

*** Regent University was a bible college last time I looked doll. As for my answer being "invalid" they must not teach those lawyering skills very well. Have you actually bumped up against Monica Goodling? Must be fun to know someone with direct 5th amendment experience.

They are not. Apparently they are awarded whatever Ethiopian rights they are entitled to.

"The prisoners were never in American custody, said an FBI spokesman, Richard Kolko, who denied the agency would support or be party to illegal arrests. He said U.S. agents were allowed limited access by governments in the Horn of Africa to question prisoners as part of the FBI's counter-terrorism work"

Interestingly, the Patriot Act was enacted largely to stop the "extraordinary rendition," being screamed about by the Liberal media.

The Patriot Act was Liberal appeasement.

And this case seems to have nothing to do with the Patriot Act. This kind of thing has always gone on. You apparently don't remember our kid who got caned in another country. And I won't swear to it, but I think Clinton was the President at the time.

EDIT: Argle, find any college, preferably one where they teach you how to read. I did not say it was okay. I said it has always gone on. The context of this question makes it and your answer invalid. Oh, and unless there have been some changes I don't know about, UT is hardly a Bible college.

And in case you are unaware, Yahoo news is about as openly Liberally biased as it gets.

It's unfortunately a sign of the times and I can't believe how many people apparently think it's acceptable as long as they feel it keeps them safe!

The country I have grown up loving is becoming unrecognizable!!

It makes me so angry that 60 years ago US citizens fought and died fighting Fascism by the Nazis only to have Fascism take root in the US today!!!!

How could we have betrayed all of our fellow countrymen?

Well reading the article it appears that those prisoners were not captured by American forces. They are not being held in an American secret prison, they are being held by a foreign government in a foreign prison for terrorist acts. They are the ones who have custody and must try him...we can't try him in America just because he is American.....Michael Faye in Singapore ring a bell?

sorry, I don't click links and I wouldn't believe anything yahoo has to say.

Americans disappear or are kidnapped, or arrested all over the globe. the US govt. does very little unless it is a person of importance. once you step outside the US, your basicly on your own. Lose your passport and go to the US embassy.
they take your name tell you to leave and they will contact you.

hahahaha

while the guy with your passport is doing..........hmmmm......
oh well.
