Are they any drugs(on the shelf) that you can take to help regulate your periods to better predict your ovulation? My periods are pretty irregular, and always have been. And I can't tell when I'm ovulating. It's a guessing game. And I hate it! Anyone have similar problems? And how did you come about conceiving??

First of all, irregular cycles do NOT have to impede conception!!! You just need to know when you are fertile so you can time intercourse appropriately.

The first step, in my opinion, would be to track your fertility signs (cervical fluid and temperature). It's very easy to learn and very accurate.

If you still find there are problems w/ your cycle, you can tackle them w/ more knowledge. Herbs are not as risky as fertility drugs, but they still can have negative effects (espeically when you use the wrong herbs for you). The Ovusoft.com website has an herbal board where you can ask questions about fertility herbs.

Some sources: The books the Art of Natural Family Planning and Taking Charge of Your Fertility. The websites CCLI.org, Ovusoft.com, and FertilityFriend.com

There is more than one way to tell if you are ovulating.
Firstly you tend to ovulate 14 days before the next period - not much help to you though.
For some women there might be a slight (sometimes sharp) pain on the side of the ovary releasing the egg.
There is a slight rise in internal temperature at the time of ovulation (temperature is taken inside the vagina before rising in the morning - about 1/2 to 3/4 of a degree C). To find this successfully you have to take your temp. every morning except when menstruating.
There is a slight mucus discharge 2-3 days before which thickens then fades away the day or two after ovulation.
And if you can chart these events for a few months and learn what you are looking for, you can greatly increase your chances of conceiving. Alternatively, by using these methods to predict ovulation you can also avoid becoming pregnant by avoiding intercourse during the ovulation period.
Look up the Billings Method (Of contraception) on the net for further info.
Hope this helps, B
