The TV is used more. Energy is equal to power times time. One Watt is equal to one joule of energy used per second of use. If a 300 Watt TV is used a lot more than a 5000 watt dryer, it most definitely can use more electrical energy in a month.

Depends on how long you use each device, you'd have to use the 300W TV 16 times as much for it to be more, but that isn't hard usually, unless you REALLY like to use the dryer a lot.

Maybe because the TV is either switched on more often than the dryer and is always on standby, even when you're not watching it. Standby mode uses some power. Your dryer is either on or off.

Most new appliance , like tv, are on stand by mode when they are off...they are still using electricity even if they are off.
Or you watch tv more then you dry clothes

Well because if your family is anything like mine your T.V runs 24/7 and you probably only do laundry once or twice a week.
