good topic. confusing topic. stressfull topic. we all know it. when it comes to politics well thats when the arguments start. well heres my arguement. whether you support bush or not, i think NO ONE has the right to critize him for what he does. I MEAN, EVERYONE IN THE UNITED STATES, depends on HIM. on that ONE person. he has the U.S. on his shoulders. i mean, i don't know what its like in his position, but i know hes doing the best he can. he's part of us too. he's nothing special, he just makes the decisions. i think we should all stop and pray for him, because imagine if you were him making a decision for everyone, your family, friends, and people you don't even know and hate you because of that desicion. kind of stupid. i think instead of critizing him, pray for him. pray to god that he will make the right decision for ALL OF US.
you want peace? well this isnt the way to start it off.

Disagreement, dissent, and protest can be VERY patriotic.

Sedition is just the opposite. Name-calling, spreading unfounded rumors, treating them as 'guilty until proven innocent', and otherwise undermining our country is wrong, and should be faced by every patriotic U.S. American that can speak up. They may have free speech. So do we.

It was wrong against President Clinton (other issues aside), and it is wrong against President Bush.

Thank you for your thoughts. I am a democrat. I wish him well, and understand his problem to some degree coming from a formally Islamic family that escaped Islam.

Keep speaking up.

Everyone has the right, even the duty, to criticise the leader in a democracy. By that I mean constructive, informed criticism, not just mud-slinging, which helps no-one.

Asking intelligent questions does no harm either. I assume from what you write, you are a Christian? (if not, please accept my apology for being so presumptious).

In the New Testament there are plenty of examples of Jesus' Disciples questioning and even criticising him. Jesus replies, answering their questions and telling them when He thinks they are in the wrong. However, at no time does He tell them they have no right to question or criticise Him. Jesus himself questions and criticises the leaders of the Synagogue and tells Pontius Pilate that he would have no power if it were not given to him by a higher power still.

So on that basis it doesn't appear wrong to question or criticise the President of the US. I'm willing to bet there are many millions of God-fearing people in the US but when it comes to whether they think the President is doing God's will, they do not always agree.

GWB is a human being and like every other he is going to make mistakes, and as he is the most powerful man on Earth those are likely to be big mistakes. The worst possible thing you can do is pray that he does the right thing. If you're going to pray at all, then perhaps it would be better to pray that if he does make a mistake, that other people recognise and accept it and have the courage and ability to bring him to account.

As long as u have Politics u have poly-tricks! People in a position like President Bush are not as caring as you would like him to be. He has to be a tough hard core guy because it is no joke to be the leader of the most powerful nation. It is not also far fetched that he is also fullfilling some of his own agenda that has nothing to do with you or I. He got elected to this position and that is what he gets. He knows it is a ugly position because his daddy was the president too. He is not a kitten- he is a cowboy-cowboys use force, guns, anything to defend themselves. If you research his family history, he comes from powerful people with an agenda for America. He is special! His brother is the governor of Florida! It is no mistake he is in office, he paid to be there. Yes prey for him, people in america and Iraq but most importantly prey for yourself.
