i'm having a hard time choosing which college to attend. i plan on going abroad to pursue med school after i get my undergraduate degree. does it really matter if i attend a state university? is med school more likely to accept graduates from a state university?

You don't say where you are from and where you plan to study. If you're asking about attending a state university in the US, these are almost all very fine schools. The biggest benefit to attending a state university in the US is that tuition is low, especially for in-state residents. In other words, if you live in Ohio, you will get a good deal on tuition at Ohio University. There may be some good deals for non-US residents, since many universities like to bring in foreign nationals to add to the diversity on campus.

Other benefits of state universities is that the are almost all very big and have lots of facilities, events and organizations. There will be many clubs and organizations that you can join, and you will meet a large circle of people. The big state universities also have large alumni organizations, which can help you years after you graduate.
