Well, Winston Churchill is having a scotch in his grave right now asking the question: "How did 15 British sailors and Marines give up without firing a shot?" Churchill probably cannot believe this. You know, they pretty mothballed their navy. Great Britain, I'll tell you, it's gone PC in ways you wouldn't believe. If you people haven't heard, this I want you to sit down. This is from the UK Daily Mail: "Schools are dropping the Holocaust from history lessons to avoid offending Muslim pupils," according to a government study. The study "found that some teachers are reluctant to cover the atrocity of the Holocaust for fear of upsetting students whose beliefs include Holocaust denial. There is also resistance to tackling the Eleventh Century crusades where Christians fought Muslim armies for control of Jerusalem because lessons often contradict what is taught in local mosques. The findings have prompted claims that some schools are using histories as a vehicle for promoting political correctness."

Political correctness? It's worse than that! The Brits are not teaching the Holocaust because there are Muslim students in there who are Holocaust deniers, and they don't want them to be offended! They're worried that they're going to start blowing up the schools or something, I guess. (interruption) Yes, there is a "consensus" on the Holocaust, but the Brits are willing to say, "To hell with consensus." The Holocaust is not "consensus." It's fact. Look, you wonder what's happened to the Brits? It's political correctness is running amok, and "conflict resolution." Does anybody think that 15 United States Marines would just sit there and allow themselves to be taken when they had not invaded Iranian waters and then in two days, start apologizing on Iranian TV? Do you think 15 United States Marines would do this?

No.

Way.

Semper fi. No way. But all you have to know is the story I just told you. They're not teaching the Holocaust might offend Muslim students who don't believe it.

So it would have been better to start a gun fight that would have escalated into an armed conflict with Iran. I'm sure the officer in charge of the 15 British soldiers commanded them to stand down.

Do you actually believe that the best solution to a problem is armed conflict? Do you actually understand what would occur if there had been a gun fight? Do you really want to live during another global conflict?

What if a gun fight between the Iranian and British military became the same watershed moment as the assassination of Franz Ferdinand? It's needs to become a diplomatic issue just like it was in 2002 when the Iranians captured eight British sailors, then set them free.

I've haven't read about the Holocaust and British schools, but that does disgust me. I cannot stand it when history is changed or watered down due to one group or another.

It's nice to know that America isn't the only country suffering from an attack of excessive liberalism.
However, not teaching historic FACTS because someone might be offended really has nothing to do with the intent of political correctness - it's simply wrong. Dead wrong.
The Holocaust is not religious dogma and therefore cannot fall into the same categories as "creationism" vs. "evolutionary theory," for instance.
As far as the capture of the GB sailors, I don't know the circumstances surrounding this incident - perhaps they were not expecting to be taken hostage - this would necessarily be true if they were in Iraqi waters.

I feel that the present British government is the most corrupt government, lacking in integrity, I have ever experienced.
Look at their treatment of the majority of the voters in Northern Ireland. They have been lied to and cheated for years.
We here in NI do not even have a proper "British" vote.
We are part of the United Kingdom but are second class citizens.
Tony Blair is a dictator and wants to go down in history as the "President" who solved the Northern Ireland conflict.
I am glad that the members of the armed services got back safely, not like those who have perished, and been forgotten or ignored by Blair et al. in our own conflict!

I'm not even British and I'm still mad at this. The schools just need to stand up to these tyrants and say "F*ck political correctness, we're teaching these kids about what REALLY happened, not what they WANTED to have happened". I bet all the old British WWII vets are pissed off/turning over in their graves over this, especially after seeing the horrid conditions and the state of the prisoners there after liberating the camps. Most adults weighed less than 100 pounds when they were rescued. The fact that the government is giving in to these deniers is beyond belief.

Not a real question. Clinton and integrity should never be used in the same sentence. Sorry I did but you get the point. She could not recognized the truth if her husband said he had just dorked a GIRL about the age of their daughter. Very sick people and they have a chance to become President. Unbelievable!

I think it's F-ing crazy that they are allowing Muslims to dictate what they should teach!! Would the Islamic countries allow Christians to come in and tell them how to Teach? No they wouldn't, the christians would be killed and burned for such things.

Britian needs to wake up and realize that there is a problem in their country and take hold of it before they are being forced to convert to a religion or be killed for not.
And yes the political correctness is getting out of hand, I say screw political correctness, we need to stand together and Rebel against all that crap.

You must be some kind of idiot. Stop watching Hollywood movies and get into the real world. If these soldiers had fired back they would all be dead and would have started a major incident that would have cost more life's. If they were American they would probably have shot each other and died and then covered up the mistake by denying the families the right to the truth, like they have to the countless number of British troops your soldiers have killed in this war. Then ten years later we would see a Hollywood movie telling us how you single handedly won the Iraq war. The stupidity of your countrymen has seen thousands die in this war, the common sense of our troops has resulted in no deaths

Hmmm, that's alot to ponder, and since you mentioned scotch so early in your question I have to excuse myself, run downstairs and pour myself a wee bit of the golden fluid that the angels didn't take and then I'll finish my post.

Stand by one.......

OK, I'm back.

The world is sick, and the official word for the situation the world is in right now as far as politics is concerned is APPEASMENT.

Churchill is not sipping a scotch right now, he's rolling over in agony. Neville Chamberlain is the one sipping a scotch in his grave, so is his buddy Hitler.

Personally think that 15 US Marines, like their British military
counterparts would follow orders and not feed fuel to a
bad situation (both would be gritting their teeth)-- and should
be commended for their military bearing.
