hi!
The Moon is the only natural satellite of planet Earth. It doesnt have any other name apart from 'the Moon' although it is often confused with natural satellites of other planets called 'moons'.
How the Moon came to be here is a question that i love, i used to thing that it was created at the same time as the Earth from an accretion disk. The modern theory is that a Mars sized planet hit the Earth and the Moon & Earth are products of that massive colission!
Fantastic :)
