When they are confronted with the idea that THEY , as people, are responsible for Global Warming? I believe we are responsible, how about you?

I get all defensive because I can't find one scintilla of scientific evidence that supports man-caused global warming and don't like to be accused of being a Denier by those who know nothing about science. I AM a scientist by education and when someone who knows nothing about science states something like "all reputable scientists agree...." that same someone both insults my intelligence and character.

By the way, do YOU simply believe we are responsible as one who believes in God believes or do you know as a scientific fact that man caused global warming is provable (incidentally you don't have to capitalize global warming it unless you consider that it is a religion)

Thank you Flyboy!

I'm not a scientist, but after looking at even just the history of the earth shows that the planet has gone through several cycles of warming and cooling!

I am soooo sick of hearing about how we need to make all these drastic, EXPENSIVE, changes to our lives to try and reverse a natural phenomenon. I really all comes down to money and those who are envious of the success of others!

Don't get me wrong. I think it's important to look for cleaner and more renewable sources of energy, but we are not going to effect that much change.

I'm worried about the pollution to our water supply than global temps!

Well I dont get angry at the possibility that the big gas guzzler I drive is doing damage but I certianly dont give a **** enough to go out and by some POS hybrid and drive around like a shriner in a bitsy car. I suppose the ones who get mad get mad because they know better are angry at thier own apathy to do something about it.

Maybe for a part of it. The sun's energy has increased by .15% in the last 30 years and Mars and Pluto are warming also. Can we be blamed for that also ?

Global warming is not something to get excited about. It is merely a product of our lifestyles collectively. Getting mad at people and starting fights about their excessive consumptions will solve no problems.

Don't worry, they get equally excited to think when they think somebody prays to the pope rather than to darwin. Really though, I don't know whether it makes much of a difference whether we created it or not. The real question is whether we can stop it. Obviously if we can't stop, we should have a party- and end our last days with drinking, letting those who want to dig caves for their children, can dig them. And if we can stop it, probably the best way is with the emissions that we do control. But personally, I get the feeling that we need to see it before we invest in that, and if we see it, we'll not be able to stop it, so... just all we can do is sit back and watch.

Because it is a political issue, and Neocons don't know how to express themselves without attacking, either with words or invasions. It doesn;t help when they are almost always completely wrong so that even when they try to defend their position with actual valid logic instead of the same linguistic trickery you find in Creationism, they get their asses handed to them.

People get defensive because if they admit they are responsible, then they have to change what they're doing if we are to reverse the problem.
And most people hate change, especially when its forced on them by circumstance or law.

I agree with the first poster, and I think that people don't really believe that their own actions make a difference. So they resent anyone suggesting that they do.
