Still wouldn't start, replaced the solinoid, "was told it was a 6 cylinder/but it was a 8" and was then starting the truck on it's own just by putting the battery cable on.. I then proceeded" mind you at this time, I was unaware of the wrong soinoid error..." I proceeded and put on a new starter... Now the solenoid was sparking terribly, and truck didn't turn over...Thought it had to be in the steering where I first started, so I changed the steering column.. Hold on there's more!! Put the steering column in and now I figuered out that the wrong solonoid was put in which caused the sparking"so I think", I proceeded to put my old one back in, then I could at lease do the screwdriver thing to it, forgot to take the battery terminals off and boy was there some real sparks flying... Took of the cables and now there is nothing/ not even headlight.. And yes the battery is good.. Where do I go from here? Please ??? I'm out of thoughts except , inspect my cables that go to the battery..Thanks

I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. I really don't mean to be putting you down or to be demeaning but you have no business working on a vehicle without a knowledgeable person to help/teach you how. Depending on the age of the truck, there's any number of things you may have blown by shorting things out. If the truck is new wnough to have a computer you may well have fried it. My suggestion is that you get someone who is knowlrdgeable of automotive electrical system to assist you. If that means taking it to a mechanic so be it. Throwing parts at a problem rather than; 1. understanding the problem. 2. troubleshooting to find the bad component then 3. replacing ONLY the bad component(s) can be not only damned expensive but frustrating and/or downright dangerous. So far you've spent money and time and accomplished nothing except more pronlems. Stop, backoff, and get some knowledgeable help. Trying to troubleshoot this problem from here is impossible no matter who the peron is.

From my experience, I can tell you that your origional problem was most likely a starter wire rubbing on the frame somewhere, or a power and ground cable touching in the area of the starter. There are other things it could be: bad solenoid, bad ignition switch, etc, but the most likely cause is a short somewhere caused by rubbing.
To answer your question about the other problems, you most likely blew a fuse or popped a fusable link while you were shorting the wires. Check all your fuses in your underdash and underhood fuse boxes first. If you can't find anything then you may have a module problem or something else that cannot be identified very easily. At that point it would be time to visit the ford dealer.

Under the hood of your truck there is a box labeled "Fuses". Pop the cover off and you should see some big fuses, those are your fusible links. Most likely your 80 amp link is blown. As far as the rest of your troubles, check and make sure your grounds are all good and clean. A bad ground can cause serious starting issues, and even catch the vehicle on fire. Without knowing the year and engine size of your truck, this is the best advice anyone can give you.

could valuable help alot to understand the three hundred and sixty 5 days of your truck. The valuable cable from the battery is going to a minimum of one area of the solenoid, as do all the small wires that have "eyes" on them. The cable to the starter is going on the different terminal all the way through itself. And the cord(s) that have a woman end visit the little terminals that have interaction the solenoid. once you change the biggest to the commencing up place, voltage is going to the solenoid, which then connects the two cables on each and every end and sends contemporary to the starter. And the detrimental cable of the battery is going the engine block, the small wires visit physique and physique. make valuable all is as above...then see what happens!!!!
