If you go on line and search for the Red Fairy Book, the Blue Fairy Book, and others (by color) you will find a site where you can read them on line.

These are classic stories in the same tradition as Grimms and Arabian Nights.

You will have to read them yourself to decide which ones are suitable for your children, as they often have the hero succeed by lying to the villain, stealing the villain’s wealth, and the villain being punished in some horrible and merciless way at the end.

Well, I most of the Disney movies are very good, though unfortunately there are some that are not suitable for children, I think.
Other films: Hoodwinked, very funny, a good alternative to Shrek which has a lot of adult themes.

Non animated: Jack and the Beanstalk, The True Story

There are many others.

Try any of the Grimms fairytales or Hans Christianson fairytales. they have the classics like Cinderella and others like the Six Swans. You can find some of grimms online at this site:

Any fairytale with cottages, fairies, dragons, and stuff is AWESOME!
Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Cinderella, The Golden Goose, Hansel and Gretel, can't be beat! (But then, I'm a dweeb lol)

Almost any of the older Disney movies/stories. Cuase there are the newer ones that have "Sexual Inuendos" (Like Pirates of the Caribbean...."I 'Practice' with my 'sword' 3 hours a day, wanna see my 'technique' " I dont think it was meant that way, but i found it Hilarious)

i used to watch disney they were the best. the classic of course but not sure if kids today will like those stories but you can try
