Dress semi-formal.

Dress / good (dark) slacks, dress shirt, suit jacket. Tie optional. Note: do not over do it.

Good question:
What is the salary involved with the position?
What are (your) job duties?
Whom will you be reporting to?
What benefits are you entitled to?

Questions you'll likely be asked:
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Why should we give you the job?
What is your greatest flaw?
What qualities will you bring to the job?

Remember, you will be selling yourself. Do it successfully (and don't lie, people check references now a-days), and you'll snag the job. Fail, and you'll loose the oportunity. Look at the job as something that can improve your lot in life - especially if it is.

On a job interview, dress to impress. Meaning, wear a dark business suit and a white shirt and a tie, with dress shoes. I am assuming this is not an interview with a fast food restaurant or construction, or something like that.

Ten to fifteen minutes early is good, use the time to relax and get a lat look over your resume and the job requirements.

Here are some questions:

"Whom or What departments will I be interacting with on a daily basis"?

Ask them who are their major clients and competitors.

Ask if you are interviewing for a new position or if you are replacing someone. If you are replacing someone, what projects are still open and what stage of completion are those projects (the worst thing for me is picking up the mess the someone else has dumped.) So at least you will know what to expect before you accept the job.

Ask how many hours do the people in this department usually work(again you do not want any surprises, if they expect you to work weekends or 60 hour weeks, or on call.)

That is all I can think of. Go to monster.com website. They have some guidelines on how to prepare for an interview. They also have questions they may be more specific to the job you are applying for.

Good luck. I just came from a job interview. I hate job interviews. I hope to find a job and soon. So just remember, I will be pulling for you.

Im assuming you must be young so the job you're going for is probably part time or entry level. The rules on this are not so strict luckilly although I dont believe there should be stupid interviews at all for these - its not as if you are going to be so excited because its your life passion. But anyways - even bitter as I am about interviews I dress upper casual I dont think anyone who isnt going to a big business in the city needs to dress fancy really - just pants that can qualify as dressy and any top that isnt a tshirt. I would get there between 5-10 minutes early just to give yourself a time to adjust to your surrondings as well as in case you run into traffic or something. Questions - depends what you are concerned about, I usually ask things about hour flexibility, ability to book time off, all the tasks required, how they intend to train new employees (or if they just throw you in a room and expect you to know what to do -always a sign to run away in the opposite direction), what qualities they think the candidate should have etc. I make it as much an interview of them as me because its not just a one way street - so ask them all the things that concern you about the job and things that you want in a job and see if they match. Have fun lol.
