Neither. politically speaking.

It's hard to transfer what Jesus taught in that day to present times, politically speaking.

Example; Because he saved the woman caught in the act of adultery, does that mean he would be against ALL death penalty cases?

And, if you noticed, while he saved her, he didn't back down on saying she was wrong. ("Go & sin no more.") I can imagine liberals screaming, "Who are you telling her what to do with her own body!"

He obviously wanted the poor to be taken care of, but does that mean he would have wanted the government to be in charge of it? And 50% of the rich man's income being confiscated to pay for it? That sounds more like Robin Hood than Jesus Christ!

He said you have to pay your taxes, but would he have voted for a politician who advocated fixing things by higher taxes?

He taught obedience to the government, but does that mean he wanted a big government?

I can't imagine Jesus being anything but disgusted by mid to late- term abortions, but the Bible is not specific on the subject. The issue of "when life begins" would have to be answered, first.

Jesus understood that the politics of his day were to do as one was told by King Herrod and the Romans. They were the politics of his time. He had better things to do. Those things including helping the poor, healing the sick, giving money away, not wearing flashy clothes. Today he would be more of a Liberal than a Conservative. Although he had some beliefs that are obvioulsly conservative he would be mostly liberal.

Jesus Christ is neither Liberal or Conservative. Jesus Christ is the Son of God and he loves everyone so much that he gave his life on the cross so that we can be forgiven of our sins.

Neither, as christians are prepared on asserting, he became not political. That stated. professional-existence Anti-conflict Anti-death penalty not involved in making a earnings Healed the ill for loose Fed hundreds on the sermon on the mound, for loose. sounds like what like cutting-edge Christian Conservatives might call a commie socialist or liberal.

Jesus would not be involved in politics. On social issues, like aiding the needy, I'm sure he would be considered a liberal. He would stay out of non-social issues, but that's just my opinion.

OK, you tell me:

He was tolerant and loved everyone, including prostitutes.
He chased the money lenders out of the temple.
He warned against the love of money, saying it was the root of all evil.
He did not value riches or greed.
He was against war.
He said we should love our brothers and sisters to show that we loved Him.
He said we should help the poor and less fortunate and hung out with the lepers.
He said we should leave judging of others up to God.

What do you think?

Liberal, Jesus was all about giving, and in the end it cost him his life, which even then gave so freely.

Our land has been beset by a twisted version of Christianity that spreads itself like a virus through the use of psychological terrorism. Various groups and sects comprise the Religious Right and the Dominionists, the carriers of this contagion. While the individual groups and leaders vary to some extent in beliefs and tactics, their goals are closely aligned. These modern day crusaders have relentlessly pursued the persecution of gays, and hence provided the Oligarchs with the scapegoat that a tyranny needs in order to thrive. Fortified by the hubristic belief that theirs is the one true religion, and that Jesus guarantees them a place in heaven, members of the Religious Right feel confident that they possess the "manifest destiny" to impose their agenda on the rest of America. They have grossly abused their tax exempt status with their forays into the political arena. The Religious Right is also threatening to corrupt our secular public institutions with their "truth", which they derive from selective interpretation of the Bible. Someone needs to remind them that truth is not easily plumbed from a book which the Church revised many times throughout history for the purpose of manipulating the masses.

Jesus was mostly about compassion, the virtual antithesis of the core motivations of the Oligarchs.

He was just a guy. Contrary to world opinion. He was Jewish. Hard fact to accept to Christians. He was never a member of any political party. Did not live long enough LoL. When he arose again though, he was never heard of again.

A liberal with a very questionable exit strategy.

Maybe a little bit of both!! He dressed like a hippie, did his hair like one, didn't like to resort to violence. But on the other hand he had all the wisdom in the world, and wasn't afraid to die for what he believed in.
