Good Grief
Bettas are NOT known to be major jumpers. The only time they are likely to jump is when they are not well cared for and the water gets too bad for them to handle. As long as you keep the water clean and them well fed you shouldn't have any problems at all.

Betta fish are known to jump from one pond to another when the water gets low. As long as the water doesn't get too low they shouldn't jump out. However, I had a Betta once which jumped out of the tank for some unknown reason. It might be a good idea to keep the lid on at all times. Hope that helps.

Betta will jump. Keep the lid on at all times, except if you have to take it off to feed it. They may also jump over the divider, so make sure that it's high enough. You don't want to come home one day to see them fighting.

I've had tons of Betta fish in bowls and tanks and have never had to deal with one that would jump out of the water. They are not strong enough to move a lid anyways I think you got it mixed up with an octpus or moray eel. I absolutely agree with Magic Man

Yes they do jump out... If you can find my question titled Urgent HELP HELP HELP on yahoo which I asked yesterday, you'll know this is not a myth.I had posted 2 questions under the same name, find the1st one.
If the lid is covering the entire upper part then its no problem, but if there is lil space left then it may just be a problem (pls find my question it will help you) If the lid is convering the entire upper part and there is no air pump then you may wanna remove it partially for a few seconds and then place it again for new air to move in.
I still insist you should find my 1st question titled Urgent HELP HELP HELP.

They leap once you least anticipate it. attempt: * figuring out to purchase a tank that has a lid (breathable) protected * preserving a minimum of a 2-3 inch distance between the accurate of the tank and the water aspect * in case your tank do not have a lid, you'll get an unused bathe puff, and shrink off somewhat to position over your tank (if the hollow is smaller). keep it in position with tape or some thing. For larger tanks, get a cardboard or the like, punch holes it it, and weigh it down with some thing.

Bettas are notorious for jumping out of their tanks. As long as there is a good enough cover where they can't jump out, but still enough of a space they can get plenty of surface air, you won't have anything to worry about.

Bettas are jumpers. Keep the lid on. I doubt you want a dried betta on your floor.
