i need to answer to a summons. the amount if more than $1000.00 and less than $10,000. I have looked at the "General Denial" Section 431.30, 431.40 and it says i cant use that form if the amount if over $1000, which it is. can anyone help....

You have a right to reject a summons. There is a difference between a summons and a subpeona. If you get a subpeona then you must show up or you are breaking the law. Everyone has rights, but if you get a subpeona then I suggest you get an attorney unless it is for being a witness. Dont forget to tell the truth the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

I suggest that you appear. You may be able to work out a payment plan or obtain a public defender. If you do not appear, you may be arrested at any time including a "routine" traffic stop.
