I enjoyed this movie. I'm a huge fan of crime movies, so if Godfather or Goodfellas didn't do it for you, you'll probably want to skip out on The Departed. You really have to pay attention while watching this movie or else you won't understand why one character may do one thing when told to do something else. The movie has great actors playing amazing roles and Scorsese really hit this one out of the park. I will say that it is a little lengthy, but if you're up for the challenge, this movie will keep you on the edge of your seat.

It is a matter of opinion. It is exciting, well-acted, and unpredictable on the positive side. That said, it is a little over the top with the ending, which doesn't quite make sense. It was kind of silly, actually. The flow is a little choppy. The soundtrack didn't seem to fit. Those are the negative aspects. It is also very violent. Whether or not that is a negative or positive thing is totally a matter of opinion! It also won an Oscar for Best Picture. Whether or not THAT is a negative or a positive is also up for debate. Personally, I gave it 3.5 stars out of 5.

The beginning must be followed carefully otherwise you are going to have to get almost half way into it before the 'okay, now I get it' actually hits you.
My sons raved about this movie...my husband and I watched it and came away thinking, nawww, not one of the greater ones we've seen...have to agree with someone ahead of this...the end was a fall apart...rent it, don't buy it

The departed was definetely better than expected with sum great actors but I agree with the previous in that it ends very abrubtly which is quite disappointing

I think it was a really good movie. It deserved to win the Oscars that it did. It was a classic Martin Scorsese movie.

Yes, this movie is very cool, altough i do suggest going to see it, it has some innapropriate dialogue and scenes.
