When my husband and I were first dating, I ran into my ex husband one day when I was alone with my daughter. My ex husband was very abusive to me and had caused me to have to be hospitalized on a couple different occassions and when I ran into him, we were in a public place so he kept his hands to himself, but he was very verbally abusive and threatening. My current husband (boyfriend at the time)'s friend was there and witnessed what happened. I tried to blow it off like nothing- went home, put my kid to bed, took a shower and went to go watch t.v. when I saw my boyfriend's car pull up. I went to the door to meet him and he told me he'd come over to sit with me so the idiot didn't start anything. He was such a gentlemen. We weren't sexually involved at that time-just dating- but when I offered to let him sleep in my bed with me he politely declined and said he'd sleep on the couch. Every time I get mad at him I remind myself of that day and I know he really does care about me.

I love this one. One Valentine's day, I bought my wife a ring. But I also bought a box of Cracker Jacks. I opened the Cracker Jacks with a hot knife and opened the prize packet the same way and put the ring in the prize packet. Then I resealed the Cracker Jacks, and put a pretty red bow on it. I gave it to my wife along with a dozen roses and told her it was all I could afford that year. She kissed me any way and opened the Cracker Jacks (she's always loved those things) and almost threw the prize packet away. For some reason she decided to open it. Her eyes got as big as plates and then she started to cry. Dang if it didn't get me started too. It was a very nice Valentine's day.

My boyfriend took a whole day off work... called, told me to get dressed, he was coming to pick me up. He gave me a boquet of my favorite flowers, took me downtown, to the art museum, out to lunch, on a horse and carriage ride, out to dinner, then to a bar for karaoke where he proposed to me with the most beautiful cheezy poem on a microphone in front of everyone!!!
Too bad I took the ring off because he became so selfish I can't marry him! That selfish guy is not the guy I wanted to marry... it's the one who was selfless. I needed the guy who was more like me in the selfless category! I am a hardcore romantic, and this is the closest any guy ever came to the things I do!

My bf lit candles in the bathroom, drew some nice warm water for me in the tub, turned out all the lights, fixed me a drink and gave me a wonderful bath.
