How about a hand for Stephon Marbury.
1st~He was one of the highest donors to the NBA Player Associations Katrina Relief effort, donating 1 million dollars to the effort.
2nd~He currently has 7 barbers on hire in Coney Island giving FREE haircuts to neighborhood children.
3rd~Starbury Ones ($14.95 I believe) basketball shoes that represent what one day might become Marbury’s lasting legacy to basketball to tens of thousands of children and their families – affordable shoes and basketball apparel and to the community.
(Marbury and his partners retailers Steve & Barry's last week also announced they are donating a free pair of Starbury One high performance basketball sneakers to every varsity high school boys basketball player in New York City. That's 3,000 pairs of shoes)
Talk about a true gift giver, sure he may be an arogent *** on the court, but when it comes down to it, he is one of the most generous athletes around.

Alonzo Mourning gives so much back to the community it's not even a joke. He donated his entire salary to charity!!! he does Zos Summer groove every year in Miami which is also a non-profit event that draws thousands and all profits go to charities. He was diagnosed with a kidney disorder in October 2000 and he had a kidney transplant yet he still was giving back and playing basketball. He is the strongest man I have ever seen, he truly is my hero.

Charles Barkley an Im being dead serious, everybody sees him as a prick or a blunt guy, but in his offtime in Phoneix and Houston he used to go to hospitals in his spare time and visit kids all the time just to cheer them up, but when video cameras came, he always used to leave, because he just didn't want to be in the spotlight. He is a real good guy and always will be a great player.

Steve Nash - awesome guy - always giving back to his home community of Victoria BC. Runs basketball camps and works hands- on witht the kids. Very modest soft-spoken & down to earth guy. Not typical NBA star at all!
