Yes and it depends on the college and Univ. There are tons of college in Japan.
Japan's history is long. Not only WW2 but also other era.

Even for me, I remember I saw some question about WW2 in my high school entrance exam.

I am pretty sure they dont. The closest they get to history questions are things like current events.
