I do, also. We get a lot of thoughtless comments on this site about liberals and democrats, but the election in November was far more significant than some of the posters state. If the Democrats had not picked up supposedly absolutely safe Republican seats in states like Montana, Missouri and Tennessee, then their argument would have more validity. They also choose to ignore or discount any poll they don't like. They were criticizing all the polls before the election and they were proven wrong--i.e. the polls were right. An absolutely safe Republican seat in my state stayed Republican--but only by 700 votes. This is a Congressional seat that has never been held by a Democrat. Of course, you do have to realize some of the candidates have been campaigning for the presidency long before they declared--folks like Senators Clinton and McCain. It has fueled the early race for 2008, but it's also added a longer list of candidates. Guilliani has had the presidency in mind for years--also Edwards, Richardson and probably many others. Therefore, it's added more Democrats and has made the Republicans scramble to re-define themselves as "true" conservatives.

Where did you get the ridiculous idea that the nation has an abject disapproval and dislike for our President? You may be surprised to find that the silent majority thinks he is doing an excellent job.

Apparently you have been reading too many Democrat articles, written by Hillary-Obama supporters, to weaken the Presidential objectives of proudly aligning our country.

Hillary, who could not survive if she was investigated by a simpleton and Obama the johnny-come-lately have clearly shown that they are for sale. If elected they will never represent you because they will have to take care of their owners first.,, your vote will mean nothing.

As a non-American and an observer.... I am amazed at the posturing of some against the President. Yes, you can disgree with him, but at least he stands by his word. He stands up for what he believes is right and does not waver. Would you prefer a President who chased opinion polls? Would you prefer a President who changes his/her mind every time something didn't work out the way they wanted it? Would you prefer a President who leaves a job half done and expects others to clean up the mess?
George W Bush may not be the greatest President America has ever had, but he has shown his mettle by standing by his decision to take on terrorists. His leadership has stopped terrorism taking off in most Western countries. Without his leadeship, the rest of the West would have been infiltrated by terrorists with consequent attacks all over the world. It is his strength and leadership that has inspired the rest of the world to fight terrorism, and has devoted the enormous resources of the United States to support the battles being waged daily by police and armed forces throughout the world.
Yes his decision to take on Iraq has turned out to be based on poor information - but you can't unmake decisions, just deal with the situation that confronts you. So Bush is doing just that - and is inspiring his allies by his commitment to beat terrorism. If the United States turns its back on Iraq and Afghanistan, terrorists will have won a great victory and you can rest assured that they will seize upon the weakness of the United States to mount further terrorist attacks that won't be stopped.
I'm saddened that such a great Nation as the United States would encourage deigration and hatred of its President.
Disagree with him as much as you like, but please respect what he is trying to do.
If you end up with a weak President next year, you might just find yourself wishing for a person with the strength of a George W Bush.

To answer your question. No the presidential shuffling has always started at the second anniversary of the sitting preses. inauguration. That is how they can measure how much money gathered by the candidates last week and guess who is the front runner. It is the same every four years how much did we get from the special interests to run this quarter. The worst thing is to get what you wish for because it never turns out how you wanted. You have to remember the first hundred days are here and nothing promised was done.

i think it has too and the fuel is definitely for the conservatives. By attempting to villify bush to mask the great power grab of 06, the pelosi/reid regime have backed themselves into a corner and come election time it will be well publicized. in a very short period of time through the overconfidence of liberal extremists, weve already seen 757gate. granting congressional voting rights to non us tax paying territories in direct violation of the constitution(yes it will be challenged). the flip flop of John Edwards regarding Iraq and the infamous, yes we have no choice but to raise taxes, the flip flop of Harry Reid regarding iraq funding, and now the pelosi ites visit to Hafez Assad to test drive the new 757 and headline grab though it serves no useful purpose.
The point here is eventually everyone runs out of excuses and eventually people get tired of attacking the president...ultimately the electorate will see through this and the liberal clock is definitely running out.

Please do not mistake your own fantasies for what the nation thinks. The Dumbocrats did not get that big a margin in the last election, and will probably lose even that as people see how they really are. There is something about surrender and higher taxes which turn even the most apathetic people off real quick.
