So I had sex, both protected and unprotected about a month and a half ago, two weeks after the sex though I got my normal period. I went off birth control a couple weeks ago-- I was still on it while having sex. Is it possible that I could be pregnant and still have that period, or no? I'm stressed because of all this and feel like that could be what is delaying my period, and also because I went off the pill?
Am I just freaking out or should I be worried that I'm pregnant?

I don't really think you are but I have to tell you that it is possible.
With my fourth child I had a period every single month. By the 5th month they put me in bed because they thought I might not carry the baby to full term but I did and she was a happy baby girl.

So, yeah it is a possibility. A likelihood no especially since you were on the pill while you were having sex. It's probably a combination of coming off the pill and stress that has had you miss your period. If by chance, in another two weeks you still haven't gotten it ....I'd take a home pregnancy test just to be sure.

Can you have a period when pregnant? Yes, it isn't unusual in the early stages to have break-through bleeding when your normal period would have been. It is also not unusual for there to be delayed periods when you come off the contraceptive pill. From the experience of friends this can be for up to a few months after you stop before your natural cycle kicks back in, though some, like myself, were pregnant within the month of stopping the pill, so please be extra careful if still having intercourse.
The only way to establish whether or not you are pregnant is to get tested. The home pregnancy tests are not very accurate earlier on, but a blood test at the doctors or clinic will give you a definitive answer. Then you will know for sure where you stand either way.
Good luck, either way, B

Yes, about 1 in 4 women bleed throughout their pregnancies, especially early on. Bleeding can also be a sign of miscarriage. You should take a home pregnancy test to be sure. Stress can delay your period, but it can also take a couple of months to become regular after getting off the pill. Good luck.

Contrary to what others said- you CAN get pregnant on the pill, and you CAN have what looks like a normal period.

You're definitely not pregnant because you 1) had a normal period since you last had sex and 2) you were taking birth control pills when you had sex.

Your period is probably late because you just got off the pill. But then I wonder WHY did you go off the pill if you don't want to get pregnant? this seems like a unwise move since you are sexually active.

Yes you can get pregnate and still have a period, I didnt think you could until I was proved wrong. When I had my first ultrasound for my baby we thought I was about 5 weeks but we were wrong, I was 8 weeks, so the docotr said that I got pregnate 2 weeks before by last regular period... So yes it's possible to have a period after being pregnate....

Well, you would be best to get a test - because it is *possible*. Whenever you think you may be pregnant - it's always better to be safe than sorry :)

However you are also coming off the pill which will delay things, and it sounds as if you are a bit stressed as well - which won't help.

It is possible to experience bleeding that is not an actual period after conception, usually within the first week. If it was a normal flow I would say you are in the clear. It's more likely that going off your birth control is messing with your normal schedule.

Not sure. Take a pregnancy test and if it comes up negative than no. If it comes up positive i'd see your doctor. All those things test for are the pregnancy hormaone, which could be present in your system since the birth control. Going on and off of birthcontrol can mess up all your hormones.

Not sure I follow your questions well. If you got a period after you had unprotected sex, then you should not be pregnant. Did you have any more unprotected sex after your period? What makes you think you're pregnant?

I got my period once before I found out I was pregnant with all my kids. Yup, it can be falsely reassuring, cause pregnancy doesn't show up until the 6th week, yet there is time for one more cycle. Sounds confusing. Of course, everyone is different, but it's possible.
