My wife and I were talking about this the other night. We are so blessed to live in the USA where we have the freedoms any person could ever want. We come and go as we please, choose who and when to worship, we choose our own partners for marriage, we have freedom of speech, freedom to be anything we want to be and can be as successful as we want to become through hard work, our children have plenty of schools and we can travel all over the country without fear of crossing boundaries into enemy territory. We are so blessed and spoiled as Americans. I hate to hear people bash our country. I sometimes think people should just spend a little time in some foreign countries and they would realize how lucky they are to live here in our great, free country. There are places that you are killed for worshiping the wrong way, where they come and take your boys to fight without any free choice of whether or not they want to go, people are starving and dying because of lack of medicine and healthcare. While there are some things our country needs to work on, it is still the land of the free and the home of the brave. I was fortunate enough to serve my country in the Air Force and I have been to places like I mentioned above. America is a beautiful, peaceful country and we are very priveledged to live here. I don't know what has happened to patriotism, but I think all Americans whether they believe in the war or not, should be supporting our troops and our President for trying to keep our country safe and free. It's sad to me that some schools can't even start the day with the pledge of allegiance anymore because we are so afraid we may offend someone. We almost have too many freedoms because now so many people take advantage of those freedoms and act like it's a right instead of a priveledge. As for me, I love the USA and if I was able I would still be in the military protecting this great nation.

America is a country of boundless freedom and opportunity, founded on humanitarian and deomcratic princicples. The American people are willing to give anything a go and often don't know the meaning of the word 'can't'.
The American landscape is breathtaking and inspriational.
the only thing I would add is that it is not necessarily negative or bashing when someone critises. It is vital to know where weaknesses lay in order to correct problems. If we all just though everything was okay alll the time, nothing would change and injustices would prevail.
Americans are great people, there country is great, shame about the people running the place at the moment.

Your Freedoms, your rights and privaliges. A nation where you can live your life and not be in fear of being killed by someone who hates you(all those people live on the other side of the world). Take a drive sometime across the country and take alook at it. You are in a nation where everyone is willing to try and live together and not some 3rd third world country where in most cases killing means survival. You and I are complete strangers, and yet you and i can have this peaceful conversation.
I agree with your idea of "USA-bash", some people just aren't taking pride in where they come from. It is the views of the public outlook for the sake of being politically correct that why our nation is starting to suffer. Unfortunatly, there are so many people that are taking what this Nation is doing for granted.
It's also sad that it took 9-11, or a disaster like Hurricane Katrina to re-unite this country. I hope that never has to happen again.... God permitting and willing.
"Take pride and honor in yourself as who you are and in what you have in life. You never know pride's worth until some takes it away or tries to take it. They may break your body or take your life; but your pride, spirit and honor are yours eternally... By the Grace in the hands of God." - Andrew Lanclos, a WWII Normandy veteran and my loving grandfather.
