Use the Gauss method: the sum equals (1+299) + (2+298) + ... + (149+151) + 150 + 300
which equals
149*300 + 300 + 150
which equals
150*300 + 150
which equals 45,150.
Much faster than using a calculator!
In answer to your other question, I believe I'm an atheist, but I'm not sure.

Use this method it is an arithmetic progression meaning the sequnce increases in constant stages in this case 1. I am using this method because it can be applied to very dificult sequences with constant differences.
if a is the first number in sequence=1
d=difference (constant) between each value in sequence
n=number of terms in sequence
I=max number
a+(n-1)d is the nth term formula
therefore 1+(n-1)1=300
n=300 (this is obvious from the start but i am just showing so you cna apply to more difficult questions)
Sn=n*(a+I)/2
Sn stands for total
so
300*(1+300)/2=45150
very snazy

That is just a simple arthmetic sequence.
150(1+300)= 45,150

45150.
And to think I wrote a php program to handle it for me. Then again, I didn't know it was a simple arithmetic sequence (or at least how to solve one).
I believe in something...
