You are overwhelmed by other people, and not thinking much of yourself will make you feel uncomfortable like that. Like you can't understand why anyone would want to show affection towards you, because you don't think you deserve it, am I right? What your feeling makes sense based on the way you feel about yourself. I saw your other question and answered it. I hope that my advice helps you and that you will feel better very soon. By the way, Pringles, you're delicious, especially with the bar-be-que flavoring! Mmmmmmm!

When you're sitting next to someone? Well... where would this be happening?

Putting a leg over someone is a super-friendly thing to do .... has this person earned the right to be super-friendly with you?

Or someone is a super-bold stranger and you are not skilled enough to dump them without wondering if they are dangerous to you?

In any case, try to avoid it, marriage license or no marriage license. There is just as much rape inside marriage as outside marriage ... and neither has the right to force him or herself upon the other just because they share a piece of paper that is basically for protection of the family, NOT for permission to force oneself upon the other ...

you are not alone..i think its a normal feeling. i work behind a small counter..and a friend, messing around - came round..put his arms out...in a blocking my exit sort of way - and i slapped him hard around the face...because i panicked big time..and couldnt see an escape. i felt terrible..he was a friend..but i couldnt help it.

i just think its a normal feeling when you are put in an uneasy situation..when you feel like you are not in control...thing is...usually - you are not trapped if you think about it without the panic element...you are totally safe...not easy..but relaxing a little will help. i know how you feel though!

This phobia has probably developed because of something which happend to you when you were small, i'm sorry i can't help you further, but i heard something on the radio about this, if you seek out some theapy you can find out why you feel that way and learn how to get over it.

well you've obviously got some intense form of claustraphobia. I'm guessing the best thing you can do is go to a psychiatrist or someone along those lines. But untill you're sorted out, just make sure to warn anyone who might wanna cuddle with you ;-)

It may hark back to our primordial ego when it was a natural reaction to close contact (not being funny) to recoil from what we perceived as a threat. The more base instincts seem to arise in times of what our unconscious mind see's as a threat

i get something like that, when someone is affectionate to me i get really nervous and have to leave the room 90% of the time, despite the fact that i'm a freaky person and i havent a clue as to why i do it. But its gotten better as i got older.

I have that a bit too, although it is usually controllable. I think it is a touch of claustrophobia, and it can induce panic attacks. You may want to talk to a professional if it is out of control, otherwise you just have to recognize it and live with it.
Good luck.

it is because there in your personal space and you feel claustrophobic. don't worry loadsa people must get like it, some worse than others but if you relax and think well its only a person not a wall or nothing so as soon as they move so will i. its not like its impossible to get out just keep thinking that.

I get the same way sometimes, too. My girlfriend is super clingy in the sense of the word... Just ask for some space, or hop in the shower or something. There's not much you can do besides trick yourself out of feeling that way.
