Ok...my mom whenever my mom takes her cell phone with her, she rarely answers when I call. I don't know if she doesn't hear it or it doesn't ring or what (she claims it doesn't ring). What is the point in having the phone if you don't answer it???
Whenever I have something important to say it seems like she doesn't answer.

Well, she had no reason not to answer. And this was something that she would really want to know. It was important to her, and she wasn't really happy when she found out later.

And she isn't that old...she doesn't turn 50 until the end of this year.

2. he busy.
3. he annoy because i called too many times.
4. he hears it and but he doesnt talk, he let you talk.
5. or if he is with someone and he doesnt want to talk to his little sister.
even emergencies he doesnt even pick up the phone sometime i have to drive home and open the door and get him to a certain places. like the hospital. and then he pretend he doesnt hear it, my a** he hears it alright his phone volume is like on high.

Most people would say that they absolutely NEED a cellphone in case of "emergency" - as if one day, they might get mugged, kidnapped, etc. So that's one excuse.

The second reason for having a cellphone with out answering it is to use it to call people. So for example in your case your mom can call you, but you cannot call your mom. Quite selfish if you ask me! But anyway, this is extremely common. My mom nags me about that pretty often and my aunt and uncle simply don't answer their phone because they don't know how to use it.

Lesson learned today: People are either too lazy, don't feel like talking, or are too technologically declined to use a cellphone.

Maybe she chooses not to be interrupted at whatever she is doing. Nobody is obligated to answer a ringing phone. Just because it's convenient and "important" to you doesn't mean the person on the other end (even your mother) will find it convenient to talk at any given moment. She could be driving, eating, having a conversation in person with someone, etc. There are times when it would be rude to other people to answer a ringing cellphone.

maybe there's nothing wrong with your mom's phone. maybe there's something wrong with you. one of the great lessons in life, i learned from the mother of a mentally retarded child i used to help, was learning how to ignore a ringing phone. just because someone calls and the pohone rings doesn't mean you have to stop your life and answer the phone, sometimes there are more important things to do, like dealing with a screaming child or making sure the noodles doen't over boil or just enjoying the silence that life rarely gives you.

if your problem is so earth shattering that your mother has to drop everything she is doing to answer the phone, maybe you should be calling 911 instead. in the mean time, leave a voice mail.

You might keep in mind she could have her ringer set on low or off all together. This is the polite thing to do when you are in public. Also - there are certain instances when she might be prohibited from having it on. I know at my place of work we cannot have cell phones on in our offices or during meetings unless we have informed the boss it is due to a family emergency situation. More and more workplaces are doing this. Another thing to consider is that she could be driving and does not want to hunt around for and answer her phone for safety reasons. Cut your mom some slack!

Yes, I know exactly what you mean! Whenever I call my mum, she claims that the phone doesn't ring or is too soft to be heard. Or, even worse, she desn't even turn on her cell phone! It's downright annoying!

Maybe you call tell your mum to carry it in her pocket and set the vibration, so when it rings, she can feel phone shaking. I haven't really tried this, but hopefully, it'll work for you.

Some people prefer to only make outgoing calls. Then again, your mom may be "screening" your calls. What you may consider "important" might not be all that important or "drama" as the case may be. Whenever your mom doesn't take one of your "important" calls, jot a note down about the nature of your call and reexamine it a day or two later. You may be suprised how unimportant your call really was.

Your mom might be very busy or just doesn't like to be bothered a lot. Leave her a short message and let her call you back when she has time. Those days of chatting on the phone for hours on a day might be long gone for her. She might need some space.

She obviously doesn't hear it. If she is like me she often leaves it in the car. Think about it. Who wouldn't answer a ringing phone on purpose??
