I was watching Fall Out Boy where Pete whacks th sign with his guitar and then chucks it across the stage. And there's loads of other examples but I can't think of any specific ones at the moment.

If that was my guitar I wouldn't want to break it, so does it just get a bit bashed or does it completely wreck the guitar?

Pete's just a little bit upset because it's been years, and he still can't play bass. Besides, it's just a cheap little Squier bass. He's not really what you would call a serious musician, so he doesn't really care about his sound or instrument.

The guys use to set pianos on fire in the '50s and '60s. Anyways yes, it breaks the guitars, but a $150 guitar is nothing to a guy that makes millions. Not only that, they can claim the loss as a business expense.

Most guitarists have a "real" guitar that they use to practice and play around with when they're just hanging with the guys, they dont take it with them on stage, it stays in the tour bus. And like someone said, they get free stuff, so they take the free stuff on stage and smash it.

A. They are sponsored by the company that manufactures the guitar and they get their equipment free.

B. Testosterone overload- bless their hearts.

It can break the guitar - depends on how hard it hits.

yes, of coarse it breaks the guitar... i guess they do it casue the think it's cool or something? (and maybe to show that they have so much money they don't care if they break all their guitars???)

well by now its a common (and almost classic) thing for rock bands to do... maybe that's why?

Of course it does break the guitar. But they just do it for popularity or they must be real mad or something my guess

i guess only guys in well-established bands can afford to smash their guitars but personally, i would be kind of attached to mine. i wouldn't want to bust it up!!!
