It sure sounds to me that we are a totally DIVIDED nation, I support cutting off the funding for Iraq and at the very least impeaching Bush and Cheney but I hear opposition.
I support talks and negotiations with so called terrorists and think Nancy is on the right road but then some dont like this either.

I don’t think a civil war is coming. If, however, the extreme right-wing nuts start bombing things again like the Oklahoma City bombers and the abortion clinic bombers, things could get out of hand. The extreme right-wing is militant, vicious, warmongering and inclined to be terrorists. They have been quiet recently because they perceive, rightly or wrongly, that one of their own is in the White House.

Your premise that a two party system makes civil war inevitable is very naive. The founding fathers established our government with the predicate belief that there would always be at least two sides to every political debate. Vigorous political debate was and is expected to generate full discussions on issues of public importance.

A closely divided electorate is nothing new. It has always been so. You have 30% or so on the hard right, 30% or so on the hard left and 40% makes up the middle. Debate is about convincing the middle which way is the best way to go.

Nancy Pelosi and the hard left will not hold sway for long, just as the hard right does not hold sway for long. This is what makes America great. If the leftists have their way for a while and then there is hell to pay, the country will swing right again and the pendulum will continue to swing. It has always been this way in the USA.

You can expect it whenever you want. The sooner, the funnier. I would be highly entertained if someone thinks that a civil war will start tomorrow, so I hope that that's when you expect it.

It would be even better if you think that around 50% of the population agrees with negotiating with terrorists and things like that, but that's outside of your question I guess.

I wouldn't be expecting an American Civil War part deux anytime in the near future if at all. Our nation will always be divided because our governments politics is so polarized. I personally think the structure of the government itself needs some serious reworking.

i am sure that you have heard this saying, that it says where ever you go sky is blue. it is true.the key point is what and how to do the right thing. putting aside the different opinions and personal rights. it is so clear that none of us starting from high to bottom can not or will not come up with one solutions. reasons every one wants to get something out of it personally. either it is power or money. People in charge whom ever they are, are only thinking of themselves and if they want to do something right, others will stop them because there is no benefit for them. Therefor things will never resolve, things will never be right, and things will continue only for the personal gains and wealth. So from every way we look at it, every one makes kinda profit, Media Feeds us the things that baloney, not true, lies, conspiracy's, the news that we all hear are either boring or re runs, all we hear is car accident, murders, rape, stock market, who sued who, so, personally i get my news from European Media,or Internet.
In conclusion, If there is total truth about everything and every subject, none of us will ever hear it. remember everything has to do with wealth and profit, most of us are kidding ourselves. all we have to do look back to history and see how things where done. Who benefited most and who lost the most.
