Of course. They play an important role in the animal kingdom just like everything else. They help rid the world of flys and other insects. If there were no spiders, we would be over run with insects. Yes, brown recluse spiders (along with all other spiders) are very important to the food chain.

They eat insects and other spiders. Other spiders, and presumably lizards snakes and toads and some birds would eat the Brown Recluse. They also eat each other.

since brown recluses eat flys and other insects they would be considered a secondary consumer.
