So I called the Ob nurse and she said to come in and be checked...Well I was getting ready to leave and went to the bathroom and noticed that the bleeding had stopped. So I called back and asked if it was still important for me to come in and she said yes anytime there is bleeding at all to come in. So I went in and was checked and my Dr. was completely out of line with me..she called me a liar saying there was no bleeding and no proof that I was bleeding. I guess I should have taken her my bloody panties. But since she wouldnt address the bleeding that there was..she never did tell me what caused it. Im wondering if there is anyone else that may know what the bleeding was from. It was light kinda like the last day of your period...with a brownish tint. It was enough to stain my panties. Thanks..No stupid answers please.

Well if you weren't so far along I would tell you to go and see another doctor. Bleeding in late pregnancy that has a brownish tint usually can indicate that your going in to labor soon. Since the bleeding did stop I think you will be ok for now, and that you probably shouldn't worry to much about the baby being in danger.

The midwife told me that when you have light bleeding with brownish tint that it won't be much longer before you have your baby I would say within the next week or so.

Don't allow your doctors to run all over you like that, they need to get their shyt straight or you can report them and they will be called down for their behavior.

You could have lost your mucus plug- Its mucusy with a brownish tint (the blood thats in it) and that usually happens a week or two before you go into labor. Also, sex can cause some bleeding, as can an exam (but it sounds like you didnt have an exam) There are worse things it could be, such as Placenta Privera. Point is: The fact your doctor called you a LIAR is a great sign that, HEY! You should get another doctor. It doesnt matter if you are so close to having the baby- The fact that she could act like that should be an indicator what kind of person she is, and do you really want HER helping you through the birthing process? Imagine being in excruciating pain and having her say, "Your only dialated to 3! There is no reason to be yelling the way you do, its not even that bad!"..

You may have started to lose your mucus plug. I had very light brown tinted discharge at the end of all 4 of my pregnancies. As long as it isn't bright red blood and there is no cramping you should be ok. Do you have the What to Expect When you're expecting book? It's really good and should answer some of your questions. I would also suggest getting a new dr.

Vaginal bleeding during late pregnancy is often due to an inflamed cervix or cervical growths. Bleeding during late pregnancy may be a serious health risk to both the woman and the fetus, and may require hospitalization. Heavy vaginal bleeding during late pregnancy is, most often, an indicator of a problem with the placenta. The two most common problems that involve the placenta are placenta previa and placental abruption.

Placenta previa occurs in about one out of every two hundred pregnancies. If your placenta is laying low in the uterus it can cover all or part of the cervix. While many women experience placenta previa early in pregnancy, the placenta often moves before labor occurs. If a woman has placenta previa in the last weeks of pregnancy, a cesarean section will be scheduled. Placenta previa poses a serious risk to both the mother and the baby if it is not diagnosed and labor is allowed to occur; both the mother and baby are at risk of death in this situation. Vaginal bleeding during pregnancy is often the first sign of placenta previa.

Placental abruption occurs when the placenta detaches from the wall of the uterus either before or during labor; most often, placental abruption occurs during the last trimester of pregnancy. Vaginal bleeding may occur or not; most women will experience stomach pain even if they do not have any obvious bleeding. Fortunately, placental abruption occurs in only about one percent of pregnancies.

When labor arrives, many women will experience a "bloody show." This is when the plug that covers the opening of the cervix during pregnancy is passed shortly before birth occurs. This often contains a small amount of blood and mucous; it is quite common and not a health threat if it happens with a few weeks of your due date.

Remember anytime vaginal bleeding occurs during pregnancy, whether early pregnancy or late pregnancy, it should be reported to your health care provider.

Wow. I am sorry that you had to go through that. Some doctors are just rude like that...I hate feeling like you were bothering them. Man I hope you get a better one when it comes time to deliver.

Anyhow...was it kind of thick like blood? Did it kind of look like snotty stuff? I am sorry if that is gross that is the best way to describe it. If that is what you experienced it could be pieces of your plug. Sometimes they have blood in there...sometimes it is just a snotty looking mess. If it comes out in pieces this could explain the on and off bleeding.

If it was your plug there is no need to worry. If more bleeding does occur then go to L & D and just skip the rude doctor altogether.

Best of luck to you.

I bled at 36 weeks and it stopped by the time I got to the hospital. I had a small placenta abruption and that's what caused it. Shame on your doctor for calling you a liar. You should not let her touch you when you have the baby. You can switch to someone else, or just let the hospital know that you dont want her.

Wow your doctor is a real WITCH!!! Gosh I would be tempted to find a different doctor, even though it is really late in the game.

She called you a "liar" because you said you were bleeding? Why on earth would you make that up?

That can be a completely normal freak occurance that happens to many women in pregnancy that usually causes them a lot of stress. Its important to make sure its not from anything serious (go to another doctor -yours sounds like she should have her practioners license revoked) but usually its just a harmless weird thing that happens and goes away as quickly as it started.
