I don,t know the name of the black Guy, but the name of the film was "Song of the South". The cartoon character in the film was Brer rabbit and his friend Brer bear. Walt Disney made the film based on the stories of Uncle Remus who told stories / fables that usually had a moral to them.
"Song of the South was never released on Video /DVD because it was thought that portraying a kindly old Black Guy as a stereotypical "Uncle Tom" would be insulting to Black people. The good news is, Disney are having second thoughts and may be releasing the film on DVD.
I hope so, it was a nice family film

Uncle Remus is the character and the song comes from the Disney Studios, the film Song of the South is an interesting if dated film now.
