is there any other way to make a male blow a bubble nest beside taking another males bubbles because none of my other males are blowing bubbles.

i am trying to breed my bettas but the male wont make a bubble nest...all he is doing is chasing the female around then hang out in the plants. how do i get him to start making a bubble nest and start breeding???

The only way to "make" a male blow a bubble nest is to get him in spawning condition. Clean water, proper temperature, good food and a varied diet will do it almost every time. Taking another males bubbles won't do a thing. He would only let that nest dissipate.

take the plants out so the tank is pritty much bare

make sure temp is about 35 c

put the female in a seethrough container floating in the tank

cut a cup in half and float it by thr females container

leave for about 60 hours

funny anough mine have just breed today

lol

Yeh have to put them in spawning conditions, but I did hear if you put them in a tank with no surface movement and give them excelent conditions they might.
